OSCE REVISION for NMC REGISTRATION

Published

I am Wency, a registered nurse in the Philippines. I recently passed the IELTS (8.5, 7,7,7) and the NMC part 1 competency test which is the CBT. Now, I am preparing for the final test which is the OSCE. I am currently in the United Kindom particularly in Lincolnshire, and I would like to ask you guys if you know a training agency in the UK that provides training or preparatory course for OSCE because I am not confident to take it yet for some reasons that the Uk healthcare system is different from the Philippines perhaps they have different approach in providing care to the patients and etc.

Tuition fee for intensive revision for OSCE is not a problem as long as I can enroll for revision.

ive just submitted all my documents last week. so not long yet..how about u?

Hey everyone,

I have just found this thread. I was wondering if anyone has taken the OSCE yet?

I am booked in for Sept 9 and just wondering what to expect :)

Thanks!!

Dana

@wency2015

hi! Have you taken the osce? How was it? Did you do a review from a review center? Was if worth it? :) thanks!

Hi wency,

I'm interested in the OSCE review also as I haven't practised nursing for over 5 years and I haven't worked as HCA for NHS. All my documents were submitted end of Aug so awaiting for the DL. I'm a UK resident from the Philippines also and it took nearly 3 months for my documents to be completed esp. With prc lol.

The global health partners review looks good, are you going for it? If so can you please share your thoughts and experience with them if you undertake it. I just need a good hands on review, at the moment I'm reading royal marsden, succeed in OSCE. .. by Clair Merriman, clinical skills and medicines management by Claire Boyd.

Hope to hear from you soon in this new found forum (only tonight).

Thanks and more power.

hi wency

what revision on OSCE? did you process you papers inland-UK o in the philippines..

im nhel by the way and i have lived in uk for 4 years as a student then on post study-work permit respectively.. i went back in Phil last year to get my 1 year experience as RN, and applied in NMC thereafter..

i just received my decision letter, that they informed the university about their decision

and i can contact them directly to book my exam..

but before i actually applied for nmc i met this agency and they guided me through the process..

i went in one of their event where they have employers from Ireland. they then promised a sponsorship once i get my decision letter(which i have now).. but i gather that a number of applicants for CoS-certificate of sponsorship gets denied of it, for some reason..

@dana_canada

have you now taken the OSCE?

did you pay for it or did u have an employer to sponsor it perphaps?

I think dana paid it herself.. Just like me. We're both taking osce tomorrow.. Wish us luck!xx

Hi! Yes u did pay for it myself but my employer is actually going to pay me back once I submit the receipts!

Wow! If we haven't moved.. I could've probably ask my employer for a refund as well.. :)
