Sorry, I've been busy with work. I received the letter 3 weeks ago and just attended the open house on Thursday. I now realize the school schedule is going to be a bit harder to adjust to w/my work schedule.

Hi! I was there too on Thursday. It is going to be tough for a little while. I can only work 3 certain nights due to the time clinicals start and the days they are on. Hopefully it flies by. I can't believe how far some people are driving to attend and how much they have to adjust... one girl, Emma, is coming from CoCo Beach area and another one has 4 kids... and I thought I had it rough!!!

Maybe you remember this... did they tell us that we can pay for summer session around May/June or is that something we pay for on 1/4. It was still fairly unorganized with the info I thought and I walked away basically not knowing exactly how much I need on 1/4. In the packet it lists the prices of the books which when added up total close to $600 I think but they told us to have about $350 for books?!!! I don't have to do the core but I definitely would love to score an 88 on 1/4 on that test so that I could bypass Nursing 1.

Hello,

I walked away feeling a little bit confused as well, but I believe she said we do not have to buy all the books at once. We could buy them as needed as we go along which is great for me. She also said we do not have to pay for the summer session until May/June. I can't wait to get started! I feel like I've been waiting for Jan 2010 forever.

I was there at the orientation as well. I agree that the lady was a bit disorganized with her information. Do we have to wear our uniform the first day of school (January 5) or not?

At least the program is only 10 months. Just think, we'll be graduating in a year. :yeah:

I'm still confused about how much I need to pay... hoping I have enough that first day!! The first day is Jan 4th, I think it is a Monday, but we don't have to wear our uniforms until Jan 25th. I'm looking forward to graduating too! I hope I just do well and stay awake on Tuesdays!!(I work a 12 hour shift Monday night and leave for school at 7:15. Hope I make it on time too!) I can't wait to meet everyone and get started. I'm going to take that test on the 4th but I don't know if I'll score an 88... keeping my fingers crossed!!

Physical and Dental is there a form that they give you, or can i schedule an appt now so that the dr. can provide me with the letter?

If I remember correctly (it was awhile ago... April!) when you pass the NET test and they give you your packet to complete there is a form for the doctor's physical and immunizations that they have to fill out and there is also a dental form. You do have to use theirs 'cause mine were out of state and I had to have the doctor's sign and my father faxed it to me. Hope that helps!!!

Does anyone know if Orlando Tech is open at all tomorrow (12/31, New Years' Eve)? I need to buy a parking garage sticker.. that lady at orientation said we're not allowed to park in the visitors' parking lot out front once we become students.. and I know the school will be closed on Friday since it's New Years' Day. Oh well.. if I don't get it by Monday.. hopefully they will not notice my car out in the parking lot.. lol.

Anyone purchase their uniforms yet?
