I'm slated to begin the LPN program at Orlando Tech in January.. anyone else?
Wow, yesterday was crazy! They really should rethink the financial aid situation for the first day and get more staff to help out. I just registered with globalclassroom and I can not for the life of me location the Core for Jan 2010. Anyone else experiencing the same problem? I can see the core for hs nursing academy and for the May 2009 class, but not for the Jan 2010. Uggggg!
I am looking for a former Orlando Tech LPN student maybe from the May 09 program that wants to sell some of their books. I am struggling to come up with the money to buy my books and pay a whole bunch of other stuff. I'd like to find these books as cheaply as I can! Let me list the ones I need.
Maternity & Pediatric Nursing Text and Study Guide, Mckinney & Rosner 5th Edition
Davis Drug Handbook, Deglin and Vallerand, 11th Edition
Saunders Q & A For NCLEX - PN
Calculate With Confidence, Morris, 4th Edition
Mosby's Manual of Diagnostic & Lab est, Pagana, 3rd Edition
Understanding Med-Surg Nursing, Williams and Hopper, 3rd Edition
Please, if you have any of these and want to sell them, respond!
Thanks!!!
I am a 2007 graduate as well. Worked as an LPN at MD Anderson for a year and then for a solo cardiologist for 2 years. I am finishing pre-req's for the bridge program so I can finally finish my RN! Orlando Tech did a good job. You have to remember - the more you put in to it, the more you will get out of it. STUDY STUDY STUDY!!!

Hi! Happy New Year! I haven't bought my uniforms yet... the end of next week I was going to head over there. I don't think they are open... they go by the Orange County Public school calendar so they would be closed this week for the holidays BUT the parking sticker we are to obtain on Monday when we pay our tuition and books too. We park in the visitors lot on Monday since we are not "official students" until the end of our day there!!
As for the question regarding clinicals...
We have only had 1 mandatory meeting for the January program and it was a little unorganized but from what I understand clinicals are M, TH, & F. You have to be at the clinical sites at 6:45 and it is until 1:15. Tues & W are classroom. They did mention that depending on the clinical site they have sometimes had to schedule clinical at night but not on a Friday. It hasn't happened too often from what I understand and more towards the end of the program. As I said it was a little unorganized and only one meeting so we don't know everything yet. Oh, and some of the clinical sites are a little farther. I don't have my paper handy but I think Longwood and Winter Springs were the farthest.
