Orientation on Wednesday (11-25) for WCCC!!!

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Woohoo! Orientation is almost here!! Aren't you all excited?!?:yeah:

I hope I have some luck w/the lottery.

Can't wait!!!

:stdnrsrck:

I thought I was the ONLY one excited.. I've been counting down the days.. I just cant wait to see what class I have and to FINALLY have all the information I need. YAYY we made it now lets pray we FINISH LOL :yeah:

I'm both excited and extremely nervous. Well, I'm only nervous because of my titers (had titers done at Herman Kiefer downtown, and their results paper doesn't give numbers, only "present." Nursing paperwork basically demands numbers, but HK apparently can't give me the numbers and by the time I got them I didn't have time to do them again, so I'm nervous about that, though HK is one of the suggested/mentioned places on our physical/profile form, so I won't take a possible disqualification without a fight. [i don't mean a physical fight, of course! ;)).

Strange as I am, I'm even planning to get there an hour early. I'll be the girl in black glasses and a hoodie chewing her nails off! :lol2:

Haha Tiffie1210, you are soooo not the only one excited and counting down the days! I just want my paperwork to be looked over, and make sure everything is good to go. =)

ShannonW- I know what you mean!!! When I had my titers, my mumps titer came back as just a positive. I freaked out! I demanded my doctor just to give me the MMR booster so that I'd be 'covered' either way. Thankfully she did, but like you said, the school recommended that site so how the heck can they fault you for it?!?

I plan on getting there early as well (maybe not an hr... :zzzzz... I need some sleep... lol). I do want to make sure I avoid a major traffic jam though (I'm coming from Belleville).

I'll look for you! I'm easy to spot... 5'10", far from skinny, dark hair, glasses... ummm... not sure what I'm wearing yet. :p

Let's try not to stress out guys! Good luck on getting your hospital of choice! :D

I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve! I have re-checked my papers a dozen times and re-read the letter. I have every alarm set in the house, my bag ready, water bottle and lunch!

You'll be able to pick me out because I'll be the old Gal giggling like a school girl! See you all in the AM.

 For my Crazy-B-Fly Girl! :sniff: Your next so hold on!

Haha! Me too! I have little label flags sticking out everywhere 'identifying' everything that we have to have. I have my 'ideal' schedule picked out, and a backup. I have looked over everything a zillions times. I am soooo nervous!!!

I wonder why we have to be there that long?? That's a long day!

I know what u mean ShannonW I got my results in the mail and got titer numbers for everything besides mumps and hepatits it just says positive, which I know isnt accepted. A friend of mines who's in the program said that they will just call whoever needs anything down to the Nursing office 2mrw if somethings wrong with our stuff and if they need more info so that made me less nervous. Well see u all 2mrw!:yeah:

Tiffie, that does make me a little less nervous! The woman I spoke with at Herman Kiefer said that the paper I got is all they ever give out, and in the years she's worked there, she's never had anyone come back or call about needing numbers, so... Oy. That's the only thing I'm nervous about - everything else is fine. (Well, the nurse who did my TB test wouldn't sign my student profile paper, but she did sign the official, from-the-clinic paper, so I don't anticipate an issue.) Do we just hand in our stuff and wait while they review it? If so, I might tuck in a little "here's the deal with my titers" note. :lol2:

Anyway, I should be sleeping - three hours until I need to get up! XD Hope to see you all there! If you notice me (Black glasses, grey hoodie, black pants, bright pink purse and green messenger bag, probably biting my nails or shuffling through my blue folder with papers/docs for the nth time), do say hi!

I couldn't find you ShannonW, but I did see your posts all over the poster on the board!!! OMG! How hilarious!!! :yeah:

Well, hopefully you all got the schedules you wanted. I did for the most part. I was soooo sick this morning puking, and could barely concentrate once there, that I kind of screwed up my selection and picked my 2nd choices, and not my first. Yeah, and I wasted a really good lottery selection because I think I was like 7th!

I can't believe we're being watched! :lol2: (And, um, I hope they know I was just frustrated and impatient, and,

er, don't hold my posts against me, pls? ;))

Anyway, I was 40-something, I think. Got my third choices: pod 12 and clinicals at Heritage TF w/ Western. All I really cared about was getting Western and Heritage, though, so I'm happy. Kind of wished they'd gone over our

medical forms, but I'm hoping that if they have a problem, they call me.

Did anyone see the girl walk in at 11:30am? She sat behind me, then went down to talked to GN, etc, and as turnd away. Yikes!

Shannon W I know I cant believe were being wacthed thats so funny! I tried to keep a straight face when I went and read the poster board I was so shocked! All I could think was "did I write anything bad that they would hold against me!" LOL I think one girl knew who I was and pointed me out to some of the other students they never said anything tho all I could do was smile LOL. I dont know if I saw any of u I was so OVERWHELMED! I got called like 70 but still got one of the teachers I wanted I'm in Pod #6 and got clinical at Oakwood Heritage with the northwest campus for lecture the 2nd 7.5 weeks. I'm glad I got a close clinical but kinda mad I have to go to northwest for lecture . Well all and all I'm pretty satisfied with everything!

I know! I kept looking to see if one of my posts were up there... My name is so unique and my username has it in it, so 'no duh' it would be me. LOL! I wouldn't worry about it though... I think it was more in jest than anything else. :D

Omg, yes... I totally saw the girl come in at 11:30am (she was in the row in front of me, I was like the 4th person down sitting next to a pretty blond girl). I was like "are you kidding me???". I don't want to say more in case she reads this thread (and I don't want to make her feel bad- stuff happens and I know I BARELY made it as sick as I was), but COME ON... I came with a puke bucket in my car 'just in case' but there was NO WAY I was not going to make it!

My main concern was Western as well, and I got all Western classes, except I did pod 11, but I meant to do pod 12. :sniff: I was so distracted and sick that I couldn't concentrate and when I went up there I put it on the wrong one and new it was too late to change it. Oh well, it just means I have the one sister instead of the other, and she seemed pretty cool today. I chose Oakwood Anapolis (Annapolis? That's how it was spelled on the sheet) because I *think* it's the closest to me (not that familiar w/the hospitals around here).

Where is Heritage at? In Detroit?
