I am preparing to start nursing school and am looking for good, practical ideas for being a successful student while also meeting my family's needs. Almost universally I hear, "Be organized." I'm not a naturally organized person and have always done well in school in my own style, but I am really nervous about this undertaking. What are some specific things you have done to get yourself organized for nursing school? What habits have helped you to do well? What kind of schedule do you follow? (I'm especially interested in hearing scheduling ideas from others who have a family.) What other advice can you give to someone who runs kind of ADD-ish?
Those durable plastic tabs are nice if you're a paper person, they are super durable and can be reused each semester...I like the moleskine organizer that breaks the days down by hour do I can block my tasks out and schedule down time. I also have a little checklist on my fridge that lists every bill and check them off as they are paid...it is strangely relaxing to pay bills during study breaks as it makes me feel on top of things :) are you driving to school? If so, look for places on your commute that you frequent and then try to hit them all at once.

I have 2 assignments due so far and there's still a week before school starts for them to assign is more crap. I'm just annoyed because we don't have access to our online learning system yet so we have no syllabus, schedule or lecture notes.
