OHSU Non-Resident New Grad

U.S.A. Oregon

Published

Hi all! I am fresh out of nursing school, and I'm applying to residencies, but I also got an interview OHSU in the Orthopedic & Spine unit for December 27th. Has anybody try this route, and what experience did you have as a new grad with the company without completing a residency first?

A lot of my nursing classmates were hired there for their first jobs. They got good orientations. The one hired onto Ortho is still there and loving it. There was one particular floor desperate for nurses that hired 5 of my classmates. 2 ended up quitting pretty quickly, and I haven’t heard recently how the other 3 are doing. But otherwise people seem to feel well supported and do well.

I know a few people who got hired at OHSU direct to units with out a residency and all have managed to do well and have good support. I've heard very good things about the Ortho unit and it being a great place to learn - sounds like very supportive team on that unit.

Hi! I was wondering how your experience is so far at OHSU?
