Starting a thread for any others applying to OHSU's ABSN-DNP programs!

I remember they mentioned in the info session that (at least for ABSN-DNP CNM) there's no difference between applying for the earlier deadline except for an earlier interview, as in it doesn't decrease your chance of admission if you applied for the later deadline. So hopefully there's little effect on your chances!

I haven't heard anything since my interview. They estimated that decisions would go out around the second week of February. Time is dragging, LOL.

Yea I could only imagine after interviewing and just waiting now. I try to keep busy with other things but when I get an alert on my phone, you bet I'm checking if it's an email from them haha.

I think the other people that got invited to interview is for the ABSN to dnp midwife program and they had different deadlines. I'll keep you guys updated if I hear anything. Good luck y'all! 

 

I was invited to interview! My live virtual interview coming up on Friday. I completed the Kira assessment last night. Crossing my fingers!! Hope you got some good news too?

I was accepted to ABSN-DNP for nurse-midwifery! No info on scholarships/financial aid yet (still have to fill out their application...) and they aren't hosting an open house/admitted students day which is kind of a bummer.

Wow, awesome news! Congratulations!! Keep me posted on aid options they give you. I interviewed today. I *think* it went well but who knows anymore?! I'm not the greatest at interviewing so I always think it went badly.

I'm feeling very anxious about how my interview went yesterday. I'm afraid I didn't answer questions as eloquently or with as much depth as I could have. The next couple weeks are going to be so hard! From what they said at the Q&A, there will likely only be about 8 spots for ABSN to FNP at the Portland campus. I *think* I'm a strong candidate, not only academically but in my diverse life experiences and unique upbringing, but I'm really worried that the interview did not do me any favors. Too many feeling right now, LOL.

There's a separate scholarship application that isn't due until April? So unless I missed something I don't think there's any automatic merit scholarships like there are at other schools.

Ugh, the waiting is SO hard. I'm sure you did the best you could! I also heard it's a really good sign to be interviewed at all. Nothing to do now but wait (well except sending a followup thank you email or something). Did they tell you when to expect a decision?

Thank you for dragging me over to this active thread, LOL!

Got the email today that I was placed as "highly likely" on the alternate list. Searching through some threads from previous cohorts, seems like people were starting to hear back in the beginning of April. I was trying to find the date that accepted students need to accept/decline acceptance by, but I couldn't find anything online. Historically it was April 1st or 2nd! I am planning on emailing admissions to ask about that date, but registration starts in mid-May so it would need to be decently before that I am assuming. 🙂

@Meghaanc I just got the alternate "highly likely" email today for the FDNP and I was really bummed out so I went on a deep dive to see what the chances of actually getting in and hearing anything is... then I stumbled upon this thread. I couldn't find anything from previous years about specific dates or how many alternates there are since we aren't allowed to ask.🥲 wondering if I should hold out or start making different life plans LOL

Highly likely seems... highly likely! The only context I have re: waitlist is that for one of the current cohorts of 8 CNM students, 3 out of 8 of them were originally waitlisted and ended up getting in.

That gives me some hope. The waiting is going to be so hard. They said the latest I would hear back as an alternate if I get in is two week before the start date... which is insane.
