Hello everyone!
I haven't seen a post for OHSU's 2024 ABSN program and figured I would start one!
I was waitlisted and deemed "moderately likely" to get into Winter 2025!
They say they rank the waitlist as highly, moderately, and somewhat likely.
This is also my second year applying, and both years I have only applied to OHSU due to wanting to stay instate ideally but only having prerecs for OHSU's program.
I also asked for Fall 2024 initially so it's a bit rough that I didn't get waitlisted for Fall at least, but hopefully that'll be enough time for enough people to pick other programs or spots to open up for other reasons :')

Hey Angelina, Congrats on your waitlist status. I got waitlisted too, and FWIW I think you still have a chance of getting offered a Fall spot. The email I received was probably the same format as yours with "Winter 2025" and "January 2025" bolded in italics. I emailed the program to clarify and they clarified that I could be offered an admission spot in ANY open term. The email doesn't make that clear, but FWIW I think that if you are waitlisted, you will be offered any open term spot, once your are "next in line." That said, I imagine they wouldn't offer you a spot in a term you said you were not available to start during.
Good luck!

This makes sense!! Thanks so much for the information. Where on the list did the indicate how likely you are to be offered a spot this cycle?
Please update if you're offered a spot as well, good luck to you too!

I was listed as "highly likely." Yes, I will post if I get offered a spot. Good luck! Maybe we'll end up in the same cohort.

Thanks!
Hey I just got my admissions letter yesterday for Winter 2025 but I think the dates are the same regardless of the start. You have to pay a deposit by March 19th to secure your admissions spot. Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck to you!

Thank you for the March 19th deposit deadline date. It helps to know that, beginning March 20th, OHSU will start sending admission offers to those on the alternate list based on the number of students who did not secure their seat in the program 🙂

I got accepted, made an account here to just say that I didn't know where I stood as a nursing school candidate. I did undergrad at ucla and graduated with an art degree like 11 years ago, pivoted during the pandemic and did the nursing pre-reqs. Minimal science and nursing background, did a volunteership as an HIV counselor once a week for a couple months. For my pre-reqs I got A's in my Microbiology, nutrition, and chemistry classes and B's otherwise. All of this to just say that you don't need to have a pristine record that's frontally science loaded. I have genuine practical and philosophical reasons that draw me to nursing but my whole identity doesn't revolve around it and I think that's OK. I was very worried but IDK if you're like me and don't know if you're a viable nursing candidate due to lack of experience don't fret and apply!
I applied for Summer but they offered me Winter, I'm out of state and I want to see what financial aid I'm offered as that would determine my ability to go. it's my top choice, the program seems to be of good quality and their core values align with mine. so crossing my fingers that financial aid is decent! congrats to everyone!
