Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) ABSN 2020

Hi,

I can’t find a thread for this program so figured I would start one. I was wondering if anyone has got a confirmation their application was received?

Hey Ashland folks! I just got an email saying I'm on the wait list so answers should come soon!

I'm so sad but still hopeful ?

I just got mine saying I'm on the waitlist. Hoping for the best!

I’m sorry to pry, but which program did you apply? I applied to Ashland ABSN so I’m just wondering if emails have already gone out for that program.

I applied to the Ashland ABSN. I just received my email. I made the alternate list as "highly likely". Based on what they said during the student panel, I honestly didn't expect an email this early. I wonder if they couldn't accept as many applicants until they've confirmed they have enough practicum spots to accommodate everyone.

I was surprised by the email too, I thought I would at least have to wait until Friday. But I was also waitlisted for highly likely! I wonder how many applicants there are in each category of the alternate list.

I'm highly likely too.

I was thinking maybe they would end up postponing the program or canceling for this year. I'm sure they're scrambling to figure out how to do clinicals if this goes on as long as expected.

As a current student I can say they are accommodating all of us with best efforts to meet the high standards and keep us on the same graduating schedule. We already utilized an online clinical program for leadership this past term. I would bet they continue as planned and will have a better sense of online clinical settings and open lab schedules and simulations.

Does anyone know how many people are in the Summer cohort for Ashland?

There are 26 expected to graduate the ABSN-only program. I think there's 32 spots total, including the ABSN-DNP students. How many of each accepted each cycle likely depends on the caliber of the applicant pool.

Has anyone been accepted to Ashland's ABSN program? Myself and one other friend were also listed as "highly likely" alternates, so that's at least 5 of us who are in the "highly likely" category.

It does seem to be quite an anomaly.... everyone has been placed in the highly likely category, and we've heard from no one that has been accepted, or even put into another category of the wait list, or rejected...

I was also placed on the “highly likely” alternates list

That's encouraging news. After hearing about the limited number of practicum locations due to the hospital lock downs, I wondered how they'd accommodate existing and future students, should this pandemic extend into Summer term. So many people have been impacted by this. I really hope this new Governor's order starts to flatten the curve.
