Hello! I have questions..My recruiter called me last night after bugging him through email :lol2:that I am Order of Merit list..I submitted my packet in the Army Nurse Corps active duty and OML November board result..
How OML works? Do I need to re-submitt my packet next year? How long do I have to wait?
I am a new grad (May graduate) currently working in CVICU..I am 25 years old so I OML is not bad because I have a lot of time to wait..Any response will greatly appreciate. Thank you!:)

To my knowledge the candidates are ranked, and placed on the list in order. Your status is changed as spots become available. For instance if they have ROTC or other new grads contracted and they don't pass the NCLEX, that spot can be filled with someone from OML. Additionally, if one of the people that are selected drops out for some reason, then OML gets that spot. You want a low number on the OML list. That increases your chances of getting a spot.
Thank you trauma!...I read more about the OML at Nov Air Force Board from the post of SFC Jimenez...I am okay to wait and gain more experience to get ready for next year:cool:...Good luck to everyone!

I was placed on the OML (ORDER OF MERIT LIST) in September of 2010 for Army active. No one could really give me a good indication of where I was on the list. As soon as Oct 1st hit I got a call from my recruiter stating your up on a Thursday, do you want to commission tommorow or monday. (wow). So I commissioned on tuesday then orders came about 30 days later.
