Options for officer enlistment

Hello, I am a 1st year nursing student 32 yrs old and married with children. I was prior service in the Airforce in 1988, and was wondering if anyone knows if I am too old to go back in, as an officer, once I complete my BSN? If so, can anyone give my some advice or options?

Thank you

that is an odd age for the AF-42 yo, I have never heard of them accepting nurses at that age. Has that just come into effect?

Those are just the age requirements. Don't know how long it has been in effect. But it is accurate, I know that.

Check with your recruiter. However, I think they waive tons of stuff to get nurses in!

okay now i have a question, i'm 23 and will finish up my bsn by age 27. so what would i go in as? i understand a little, but please elaborate if you will. oh and do you have to the whole boot camp thing too? sorry if i sound silly, just curious. i grew up navy brat, and married navy (though we are divorced now). my younger brother is going in as an MP in the Army...just kinda looking at my options...also what is the pay for an officer...is it really worth it?

there are some great resources on the internet r/t pay, officer school etc. . .just do your research and you will be surprised of how much you can learn

The first thing that you should do is find a health care recruiter, they will have the latest and most updated information.

I recently(on 4-4-04) was commissioned a 1LT in the Army Nurse Corps. I'm 39 years old and will turn 40 in May. In the army, you can be up to age 46 and still get commissioned, and I have 22 years of enlisted service.

Still, talk with a recruiter, that is the first step.

Good luck to you.
