I just bought the Critical Care Made Incredibly Easy book (2nd Ed.) and was wondering if anyone has it and what they think of it. I am halfway thru my orientation in ICU and wanted a general reference book to keep me on my toes. Thanks for any responses!

I never purchased it but I say that whatever helps you to understand or trigger your memory is the book or reference for you. I used to buy Incredibly Easy books throughout my nursing program and they served me well. I tend to comprehend better when the main points of the information is summarized rather than reading a long chapter.

A good compact reference for ICU is Kathy White's Fast Facts for Critical Care.
You can buy it at her website, just google it, or if you have an iPhone, you can buy an electronic version. It's full of great info!

I would suggest cruising over to www.icufaqs.org; I have found this website to be incredibly helpful!

My next "present" to myself is going to be "The ICU book" -- it's expensive, but it looked like a great resource, at least from my perspective.
