Before I was a nurse, I did some phlebotomy. I am always a smart ass. I have a knack however to make patients of all ages very comfortable and calm. Exept this one time!! I was drawing blood on a 40 something year old female. She stated she sometimes faints at the sight of blood. SSSoooo being the dork that I can be, i stated "Well, I would appreciate it if you could just take deep breaths and help guide me, I can't stand blood and so I must look away" She thought I was serious and she requested an other vampire. I was laughing as the other tech gave me a weird look. I was not even offended because I thought it was funny. I cleared it up with the patient afterward and surprizingly she laughed too. From time to time I still manage to let my mouth get me in trouble.

LOL! Louie, I think you might need to wear a sign for those of us who are completely gullible, so that we know that we are in for!
Well Miss Lisa, if you think that was odd, look at my other post "I'm not that big a jerk". I think you'll like it lol. Thanks. Don't be a stranger.

I was a Phlebotomist before becoming an RN too! Often after I finished drawing a nervous patient, they would say I do okay with this if I look away. I would respond, "I tought you were looking! I wasn't, I can't stand the sight of blood!" Glad to know that I am not the only one who has said this!
As am I. I thought I was the only one in this world. You are my friend!!!!!
