OnTech (UOIT) RPN to BScn Bridge Program Opinions

Hello All,

I am currently making selections on a Post RPN bridging program, and so far have an acceptance from Ontech University, previously UOIT. I am wondering if anyone has been apart of this program and what your thoughts of it are?

How is the course organized in terms of days per week, is there flexibility to make your schedule, were you happy with the clinical placements, how are the profs, lab techs, and how was your job search after graduation.

I live in Mississauga, so it's quite the commute and am worried about having to commute 4-5 days a week. If I could get all courses in 1-2 days, that'd be ideal. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Generally they organize it so that you do the classes in 1-2 days. So it will be long days but you just need to go in for those days.

The ability to customize your time schedule might be limited but you will want to do all the classes on one day which they do. It's just you won't be able to choose which day to do everything on.

You do clinicals in the Summer so it helps for people who wants to work part time because everything is spaced out. My clinical placement were pretty decent. Post partum markham stouffvile, lung/sarcoma clinic PMH, medicine/ong NYGH, and paeds centenary. I'm assuming you'll get placed in trillium since you live in sauga.

Profs were pretty good, haven't had any grumpy profs. They all wanted to help if you ask for help. Too bad that the pathophysio prof left, he was really good.

I wrote and passed the NCLEX in July and got my first interview and hired in Oct. All my friends were similar, took roughly 3 months after the NCLEX to get hired.

Are you commuting to the Oshawa or Barrie campus? Either way, they’re both far from Sauga my gosh. What are your other acceptances?

Hi,

UOIT was my number one choice but I got waitlisted, do you mind me asking what your GPA was? I'm also in Mississauga but my buddy is almost done an UOIT, he loves it and said it's great. He went to Seneca with me, his GPA was 3.8 which is why he got it when he applied two years ago. My GPA is just over 3.6, do I have a chance of making it?

Here is the program map. I attended their online live nursing Q&A about 2 weeks ago and they said the 2020-2021 will be identical.
