Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

I know it's early, but let's get a thread going. 2015-hopefuls, share your thoughts, concerns, questions, and experiences here!

Sure calculated with instructions from UofT (as I think there seems to be different ways to do it...) I got 3.92 out of 4.

okay thanks! do you mean using the GPA calculator on their website? I wasn't sure how to convert mine because my school is out of 4.3

Although - how do they do it... do they take all your 400 level courses first regardless of what semester you took them in and then take the next best 300 level ones after that to make up to a certain number of credits....??? That would definitely make a difference as I did not take all my most advanced courses in my last 2 semesters. I have no idea how they actually do these calculations in reality.

I'm pretty sure they just take whatever the last 5 full courses were

You are right - I found this on the UofT site...

Only completed courses in the final year will be considered for grade average calculation. However, grades for all prerequisite courses will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee carefully. Applicants are expected to have satisfactory grades in all prerequisite courses. Any grade below 60% is considered as unsatisfactory.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the thread. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted!! For those still waiting, I hope you hear soon.

I just wanted to see if there are any currently enrolled students or graduates of Humber's Second-Entry Nursing program who could share what courses they've had to take after the prep semester and what their class schedule has been like. I've been accepted and will be going there in the fall, so I'm looking for a bit more info. Thanks!

hello, i'm currently finishing up my second semester at york (feels like its taking forever to end). if anyone has questions about the program, feel free to ask.

Could you provide any information about the program, school, environment, or anything you can think of? I don't know anything about York and I've read really mixed reviews. I accepted my offer to York but I'm really uncertain about it! Anything helps, thanks

has anyone lived in York apartments? I would appreciate any feedback from those who lived or are currently living there!

No decision yet means exactly what it says. If you are rejected, your application status will be updated to reflect that. Why do you think you don't have the right pre-reqs? If it's because of that list posted, it's outdated.

Best of luck getting into the program!

Thanks for replying!

I had a sGPA of 3.71 in my last year. Just worried it won't be enough. The waiting sucks lol

Hey guys! U of T is rolling out acceptances. Just got mine by e-mail! :)

Congrats!! Do you mind sharing what your GPA in your final year is/was? I emailed U of T to try to find out when I could expect to hear back but of course they said they couldn't disclose information unfortunately

My GPA in my last 5 FCEs is 4.0 (on U of Ts 4.0 scale). I'm not too sure how they are sending out their acceptances, but I'm pretty sure they just started sending them out last week so there must still be lots of seats left! I hope you hear back soon :)
