Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

Same here!

OMG! Do you mean you're also from UofT Pharmacology or are you graduating from UofT this year? Just wondering if we're in the same class haha!

under "required documents" there should be a blue text saying "Bloomberg Nursing Supplementary Application" click that.

Then it shows this:

UofT’s first round goes out this Friday! How’s everyone feeling?

How you know that...

Always the second Friday of April.

I have a feeling it's "received" and "application processed"

Hey everyone!
I was just curious about what everyone’s undergrad degrees were that they are applying with! Mine is kinesiology and I’d love to see how diverse everyone’s backgrounds are! Goodluck to everyone who’s applied and remember that there’s still many offers to be sent out ?

Mine is in Family Life & Child Development from back home YEARSSS ago! so nervous but trying to stay calm and positive! ? All the best everyone!

Some of my documents still haven’t been updated on Nipissing’s webadvisor. My psych prerequisite still hasn’t been updated (even though they have my transcripts and I was psych major LOL) and my anat and physio prerequisite hasn’t been updated either (still says in progress even though I sent it in a month ago).

Is anyone’s portal like this for Nipissing?

and has anyone had success recently reaching out to admissions by email?

I’ve sent several dating back to March 14th and still no reply from them.

Good luck Young21! Hoping they'll update soon!

I'm currently taking AP from AthabascaU. On my WebAdvisor, it says my Physio as received and my Anatomy as in-progress, currently taking.

As for communication with admissions, it's kind of a hit & miss. Sometimes they respond within 2 weeks. The latest email I received was March 19 as a response to my email sent Feb 12th. They apologized for the late email saying:

"Your message had been forwarded to my personal email and I did not see it until now" ? I just asked about deadline for transcript for courses currently being taken.

possibly from reading threads from previous admission cycles

Can confirm! I just checked last year's forum and someone said the first round for UofT was April 9 (a Thursday, but they probably couldn't have accepted people that Friday since it was Good Friday haha). So if they keep it the same it should be this Friday! :)

Just found these on the UofT site, it’s from 2017 so maybe it may fluctuate!

Doesn’t this seem unusually high? On average it seems like 1/3 of all applicants are offered admission.
