Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

Does that mean they are done giving out acceptances?or that they just started?

All schools use a rolling admission, so they will come in two week waves until all spots are filled, then a wait list starts after that!

I think they’re still giving them out. My York application is currently under consideration (I applied early January and wrote the casper on Feb 11).

Is it a bad sign if I didn't receive an offer yet?

Like someone said before, it's all rolling admissions so you still have a chance!
Even if you end up on the waitlist lots of people drop their acceptances if they get into their school of choice. Given York's position in the GTA, I imagine there will be lots of people who applied to York, UfT & McMaster at the same time and will only give up their spot come April once UfT & McMaster start giving out acceptances.

There are a lot of schools who haven’t given out acceptances whatsoever so defiantly not a bad sign! I haven’t heard anything yet either and it’s very stressful but I just have to keep reminding myself that half the places I applied to haven’t even started giving out acceptances! The other half are on rolling admission and I did apply very late December and I think places like York are just getting to that now! It is a waiting game at this point and all we can do is hope for the best! Humber also just opened their program up again and is slowly sending them out so try not to stress too much (although I know it’s easier said than done considering I’ve been freaking out too)

I was just about to say this! A good amount of people (especially on this thread) have UofT as their top choice so definitely for all GTA students who haven't gotten acceptances yet, keep waiting for UofT to come out! Also, people's plans change all the time - a lot of people get in over the Summer as well. It's still very early on. :)

I believe it was! Email them, they will send it to you

How long was everyone given to accept their offer to Western? Mine gave me until May 1st and I’m just wondering if all schools are giving that long. Thanks!

Western and Alberta both gave me until May 1st!

Hey everyone! For those who got into York, how long was your application in the under consideration phase? I feel like I've been waiting forever its going on 3 weeks now and its making me so nervous. Hopefully everyone is doing well and best of luck to those still waiting to hear back!
