Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

I got into UofT last Friday! Extremely happy with that! However, I currently have the pending status for Mac.

Since some peoples' Mosaic accounts still say pending, my assumption is that this is their loose "waitlist" and that the offers that people reject will likely be given to individuals who's portals are still listed as pending. This is just speculation though.

Are you serious ? I still have pending on my application .

Yeah I got the same email from them. They just don't have the seats in the program for the number of people that applied. Apparently over 1000 people applied for 85 seats, so plenty of people who were more than qualified for the program likely got rejected, which is a shame. They'll likely have to increase the capacity of the program to keep up with the demand for nurses in the future. Really frustrating, especially to wait all of this time for a big fat R for A LOT of people. The application process overall with McMaster wasn't the greatest, and I'm super frustrated because I took an statistics course this past semester just to even be qualified for McMaster. So I'm majorly salty about that, but whatever. I'm sure there are many in a similar situation.

It's too competitive for what they list on the admissions websites. They really need to update their program information because I think a lot of people are blindsided by how competitive these programs actually are now.

where did you hear that there was 1000 applicants?

I had emailed them and they said they received close to 1000 applications for 85 spots

Does anyone hear from UofT?

Anyone else have a blank Trent page? Says no records found when logging in and can't see status

For those who received an offer from Nipissing, what does your Admission Basis say? Mine is "Universities - Foreign"

If youre talking about in the admissions letter, mine says previous degree and then my current university
