Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2019

Updated:   Published

Hello Everyone,

I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York

only next year (yes I am going through the strike).

Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.

For those of you who got accepted, what email does UofT use to send you the news? Is it their connect.nursing one?

it's this email: [email protected]

just got waitlisted for Queens too! I wish schools waited until my winter grades were in considering I'm only in third year my chances seem low :(

For people who recently got accepted to U of T, how long do you have to respond to the offer by?

Also, for UofT I didn't see anyone mention on the past forums that they got rejected. I'm not sure if it's just because people don't usually post about their rejections, but I'm curious to see when they usually send those out. Does anyone know?

I read that they tell you if you're accepted or rejected by June 30

Does anyone know how many people are put on the waitlist for Queen's?

I feel like anyone who has the minimum requirements would get on, because I haven't heard that anyone got rejected but I could be mistaken

If people are getting waitlisted already for Queen's, does this mean that there are no more available spots? And they won't be sending out any more acceptances until they hear back from the people who got accepted? Also assuming that once spots open again, they'll probably go with the waitlist? What about people who haven't heard back? T-T Mine is still pending ?

I’m pretty sure they have two weeks to respond before they start sending offers to others
