Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2018

Published

I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?

Good luck to all!

Hi guys,

I've received acceptances from U of T and Western for the compressed programs. Would anyone be able to compare the programs, in terms of the benefits of attending each? Or, any downsides? Any information would be highly appreciated!

Thanks :)

I am not familiar with Western's program, but I am currently in UofT's program. What specifically would you like to know? Congrats on your acceptances! :)

Hey! I was wondering if clinicals are both thursdays and fridays? Also how long are the shifts?

Yes, most clinicals are both days. However, there is one rotation I believe L+D/Pospartum which was one 12 hour shift on Thursday or Friday-not both days.

Also got into Western thursday. I've also received acceptances to York, Trent and Humber. Still waiting on UofT which is my first choice. :(

Clinical shifts are 8 hours on both days, or one 12 hour shift on Thursday or Friday.

Could anyone please update if they get into Western off the waitlist? I'd love to know what my chances are at this point. Also, has Western shared anyone's place on the waitlist with them? I asked, but they told me that they can't disclose that information.

Who did you call to ask?

****, the Nursing Admissions Coordinator

Has anyone heard from U of T today?

I think they wait 10 days before offering admission to those on the wait list! Because you have 10 days to decide whether you want to accept waitlist or not

Do you know how I would be able to contact her? I've emailed ********, the CTF counselor, but the admissions coordinator might be a better bet for my situation haha.

Does anyone know what happens after June 1st for the CTF program at Western? I'm a little confused if there's anything that I need to be doing, like picking courses, first aid etc.
