Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2018

World Canada CA Programs

Published

I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?

Good luck to all!

Has anyone heard back from UofT regarding the Nursing scholarships? When I e-mailed the office they only replied by telling that "only successful applicants will be selected for scholarship awards", so I was just wondering if anyone has heard from them!

Honestly, I went through the student services support line and they kept transferring me to various lines until I got to her. Sorry!!

Hey guys!

I finally got into UofT today. I'm so happpyyy!!

However, I'm stuck between York University and UofT. Can anyone give me their input. My goal is to continue my studies and pursue a Masters in Nursing. However, I have heard that UofT is difficult and YorkU is much easier. Any one else have any pros or cons between the two schools? Thank you in advance!!!!

Congrats!! Do you mind sharing your gpa for the last 5 credits and extracurriculars ?

I did my undergrade in UofT and everyone keeps saying that UofT is harder than York. But the truth is, it's going to be hard if you don't put in the effort!! I can't lie, UofT is hard, but I love this school. I hope you choose UofT!!! We can be buds :)

I haven't heard back regarding scholarships either. This could mean 2 things:

1) neither of us received any scholarships

2) they haven't given out scholarships yet

I hope it's the latter!

LOL I hope so too! Thanks for letting me know =)

Hey everyone,

So firstly congrats to all those who have received acceptances for nursing programs. To those who haven't, don't give up and keep trying again. SO, I am currently in my third year of biomedical science at York University and will be applying to this program this upcoming year. My current cGPA is on the low side (~3.3) with a gpa of 3.6 in my last thirty credits. I hope to boost my cGPA at least to 3.5 throughout this year and boost my last 60 (10 full) credit gpa to 3.7-3.8. I have 2 years of volunteering experience at a hospital and 2 years of experience working in a pharmacy. I will be applying to western, York, university of Toronto, Trent, Humber and Queen. Based on this, I was wondering what are my chances at these schools? I know that York only looks at the last 30 credits for admission, and western looks at the last 60 credits. Does university of Toronto look at the cGPA or do they only count the last 30 credits as well?

Did anyone receive an email from Queen's indicating Next Steps yet?

Does anyone know if McMaster will retract my offer if I didn't hand in the Skills & Abilities Letter on time?

On my offer of admission letter they said to have it handed before August 1, 2018 so I assumed any time before then and was going to hand in my final transcript with it so that they get everything together, but now I just noticed that there was a due date of June 1 on the Skills Letter..

I'm freaking out and panicking if they're going to cancel my offer because I handed it late

hello, aangles92! I also got waitlisted for queens! I have no idea of how many people are in waitlisted. However, let's hope that we will get accepted very soon! :)

Has anyone heard from U of T? I am losing hope as the June 30th date approaches. I haven't gotten any acceptance or rejection emails so I was wondering if they are still sending out offers.
