Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2018

World Canada CA Programs

Published

I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?

Good luck to all!

I got off the waitlist for Humber, and received a conditional offer. Thanks nanners for the spot :)

I want to say like 3.4 or something? It's been a while since I've calculated GPA :( hope that helps, keep your eye on Trent they accept around 78%/3.2 ish !

Thanks so much!

Has anyone received their acceptance package mail from UofT yet?

got it today, its really nothing actual document is online !

Does anyone know if UofT still looks at the last 2 years of undergrad when they are given the final transcript? or do they just look at the final year marks?

I am pretty sure they look at your last 10 full credits.

Awesome congrats! What's your gpa in the last 2 years?

So my GPA for the last two years was a 3.3 which luckily got my account on the waitlist. It was really on the lower side, but with this last semester I managed to get it to 3.61-3.64ish after it was recalculated. But you see i never sent them my new grades so apaprently i got in with a 3.3 i guess.. which sucks cuz i bust my ass this semester for no reason lol. I think it really helped to apply on time and get everything to humber on time!

Did you finish your semester? Maybe your final transcripts were sent in automatically? I ask because my GPA is around a 3.3 right now. I did email admissions and was told they were accepting 3.4 and above, so that's interesting that you got in with a 3.3. Congrats!!

My GPA could have very well been a 3.4, its always tricky converting marks like this. I had to go from a 12 point scale to a 4.3 scale, i probably messed up a little doing it. If yours is a 3.3 like you say it is, i wouldn't worry just give it some time.

I got off the waitlist as well, and I calculated my last 2 years to be 3.2. I probably calculated it wrong though (had to convert from a higher scale).

How do I go about converting to the 4.3 scale? That may be why.
