Hello future nursing students,
I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.
To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.
How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together

For Western, we had until June 7th to accept the offer.
@hopelesstomatoI was offered acceptances to Nippising and Humber but I ended up accepting my offer to Western. So there will be a spot for Nippising and Humber.

Unless you have some huge hesitation with accepting Western, I would take it! Besides, even if you take stats, no guarantee Mac accepts you next year.
What are your concerns with Western vs Mac? Or Western in general?? Western is a 19-month compressed program and you have clinical placement in your 3rd, 4th and 5th semesters. I know a lot of Western programs use case-based approach to learning. Nursing doesn't explicitly say they use this but its a big thing for many Western programs so I wouldn't be surprised if it crept its way in. London also has a lot of world class teaching hospitals you'll be completing clinical placements at. The nursing website does a great job of breaking down the program further and if you have any specific questions I would encourage you to email them!! They've been super approachable from my experience!

Why would you waste a whole year bc you didn't get into Mac nursing over a course requirement? Go to Western and finish your accelerated degree. You can work anywhere in Ontario with a BScN.

Thank you so much for all your replies, it really helped. I guess I was just really stuck on going to Mac as it's close to home, has a good reputation, and is just somewhere I saw myself going. Western is going to be a lot of change but as you all said, it's not worth wasting another year!

For Nipissing, I had like 2 days to respond to the email
Hey all,
I have been accepted to the Humber Second Entry program and I was wondering if anyone has any information on the prep semester and their courses.
Additionally, do they have any post admission requirements and if so, does anyone know what they are?
It's been truly difficult to get any information on this program and it seems that not much people know especially since the program is now a standalone program.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm a little worried about my UofT application. I don't think that I'll be able to finish the prerequisite courses that I had submitted for my supplementary app for the Human Physiology requirement. But I'm taking 2 A&P courses that satisfies the physiology requirement. Will those two courses be taken into account instead even if I don't finish my original course? They're on my transcript that I had sumbitted
