Anyone else here have an issue with friends/family members putting a guilt trip on you or taking offense to why you are not at social gatherings? Although I work 3 12 hr. shifts, they seem to think that "I only work part time". If I work a day or the whole wknd I am considered antisocial bc I can not come to an event. Did I also mention that I am in school and need to set aside time to study. Trying to better myself and all I get is grief!

I will be starting my new 7p to 7a job next month and I have 3 kids ages 8 and under whom will all be home from school during the summer. Granted, My mom and my husband are both going to take turns on who keeps them during the day when I am supposed to be sleeping, but my concern is HOW I am going to be able to sleep, because they make enough racket to wake a whole cemetery it seems on some days. I know I'll figure it out, and I have a feeling I might need to crash in my mom's spare bedroom (she lives 2 houses away).

If I had to work 2 nights in a row, I would take a sleep aid after the first night to ensure sleep (such as Tylenol PM), I also used ear plugs and a sleep mask and turned on a little fan for cool air. Just make sure u can hear your alarm or have your husband or mother make sure u r up for the next shift. Hope this helps:)

Thanks for the advice. Taking something to help me sleep is actually not a bad idea, and usually Benadryl works pretty good for helping me fall asleep.
