Trying to find the right workshop for me. I can't attend one in person so I have to go online. Makes me a little servous that Sherri is not an EC grad...but I have read of many success stories about her program. I will not take the CPNE without one so any words of advice??

I was planning on going to lynn's workshop in orlando, but it's been canceled. the excelsior one is too $$$ so I think I am going with sheri's online.

I have been doing Sheri's online and learned sooooo much about Careplans, since that is one of my biggest fears- She is fantastic, I got allot of corrections at first and now coming back with no corrections at all. I have now started sending in the Careplans and notes to Excelsior and they are coming back with comments of Good & Great work, so I am convinced and have signed up for Sheri's workshop in person in April. I also like her site because of the videos on the careplans, labs and how to perform the assessments which you can watch over and over. I have heard great things about Tina's also but can only comment on the one I am attending. Good Luck!!

I'm planning on doing both of them to get a couple of different opinions!! I'm doing Sherri's right now and it is great. When that one expires I'm going to take Tina's 6 week online one. I figure it can't hurt to get more than one perspective. I think I might also take the excelsior documentation class as well.

Wow, Cindy--you will be prepared!! Good luck! I think I'll just go with Sherri's online there seems to be a lot of feedback on this site about her program. It just worried me for a sec that she didn't graduate from EC...or so I have been told that.

personally I don't think it matters if someone graduated from excelsior or not, but if it makes anyone feel better about it, her two staff are both graduates.

Thanks--I'll def. take that workshop now...it makes me nervous to hear people say they have failed more than once!! I don't even want to fail one time! So much money and time invested.

I did Tina Logan's online care plan workshop for 2 months (Sept & Oct of 2011) and I learned so much more than just care plans. I had submitted one care plan a week to Excelsior for 3 months prior to CPNE, but did not grasp the concept or the mistakes I was making until I did Tina's. You need to be able to whip out your care plans pretty fast during your CPNE, and now with the 18th edition you really need to revise very quickly. I tested on the weekend that EC launched the 18th edition changes and I am so thankful I had done Tina's workshop. 2 students failed the 1st day because their 2 nursing diagnosis were too similar and that is something Tina fixed with me early on. Although your CE's do not typically offer opinions, when I was done with my last patient, my CE told me my charting was "beautiful". I did also attend the EC workshop, but I had already done my online workshop by then. Good luck with your CPNE!! Happy Studying :)

Thanks for all the info, I think they are probably both very similar in nature. it seems that way anyway from all the people I have seen take both workshops.
