Hello! First, I hope everyone is doing well and safe.. it's been chaotic at my hospital with low PPE and deaths.. just wanted to spread love to all my fellow nurses— I am currently a bedside nurse and I must admit that my original plan on continuing with bedside nursing is coming to end sooner than I wanted .. how many of you are feeling like this?
After seeing how nurses are being treated in the hospital setting right now— it has made me accelerate my plans on becoming a Psych NP—- I really want to know which ONLINE PMHNP do you recommend and why???
I really appreciate any info! AGAIN THANK YOU AND PLEASE BE SAFE! God bless!
love you all!

I went to Frontier for my FNP and really liked their program, I felt well prepared to start. They have a psych NP program, some friends are/have attended and liked it. Only downside is you have to find your own preceptors.
Great to hear! Is it 100% online? Thx again ??
You have two trips onsite for a few days a piece. The first is an orientation before you start, the second is a physical assessment review and test. You do your orientation, then complete all of your didactic. You do "clinical bound" before you complete all your clinical hours.

Yes it is. It was one of the first school to offer midwifrey and I beleive thye have been around since the 1930s/1940s.
A good friend of mine is attending the PMHNP program at John Hopkins and she loves it. There is also a program at Univeristy of Cincinnati and at George Washington - I don't know the associated costs- though I imagine GW probably costs a lot. Goodluck with your PMHNP:)

Now with the Covid the boundry requirements are virtual. making it more affordable.
just curious what school you selected. I just got accepted into Frontier'S PMHP program and am very excited. they have a 98% first time pass rate versus the national % of 80 so I believe this is the best choice.

Very legit on of the oldest schools of nursing in the USA. Mary Breckinridge was its founder they started doing midwifery in the appalachin mountains by horseback. Great rep and great pass rates on certification look it up. you won't be sorry.
It's legit but I picked Wilkes over others because of location (be on campus 2 times, wilkes 4 hrs away by driving), reasonable tuition, good professors (my two coworkers was in PMHNP and love it). I am starting 1/19/21. I will keep updated for allnurses folks ?

How do you like the program so far? I’m considering Wilkes for May or August start. Are you working full time?
