I am taking one at Brookdale Community College (NJ), chem 136. I just started so I'm not really sure how it is overall.

Thanks MSU. This one looks like a good fit for me. I wonder why it didn't show up in my internet searches.
Not a problem. I've heard good reviews of this course. Good luck.

So did you end up enrolling in this course? It's incredibly expensive! I'm stuck looking for an online organic chem too and am not excited- I have a hard enough time in face to face chemistry! Anyway- I was just curious to see if it worked for you or how it was going...

I'm doing the UNE course (I like it a lot!) However, as it turns out VCU has the same kind of "course in a box" offering and it's much less expensive. I have a friend taking it now and it sounds very similar. I don't have the link, but I'm sure you could track it down at their site.
Good luck!

i saw the syllabus, final is worth 60%....
on average how many hours are you dedicating to the course?
thanks
Not as many as I should! Suppose to be 2hours/day. I'm interviewing/waiting and I just can't make my brain go there right now! BTW, the final is worth 100% of your final grade (curved).

Before you sign up and pay $$$ for an on-line chemistry course, you may want to check with the school(s) you would want to to attend and transfer this course into, and make sure the course would meet their requirements and would be accepted. A lot of colleges and universities require that science courses include a lab component. It would be a shame to go to the trouble and expense of completing the course and then find out that it didn't meet your needs.
None of the schools I looked at required a clinical component. One of the program directors suggested the UNE course. I sent the syllabus link via email to the programs I was applying to, and they all said it was acceptable. This is one of those topics where you really need the information more than you need course credit. I'd even ask if it's ok to audit a course.

I looked at the UNE course, but geez, it's expensive!!! And I can't seem to find anything on the VCU webpage...anyone have a link that can lead me to the VCU online chem course that somebody had mentioned earlier?
Any other suggestions for a self-paced, online chem course that is reasonably priced?
