UTHSCSA Accelerated BSN 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone! I am applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA) Accelerated program and also the traditional program. I wanted to start a thread since I haven't seen one yet. Anyone else out there wanting to apply to the program too? I am currently finishing my Microbiology and Anatomy & Physiology II classes and then I plan to take the TEAS VI this summer. Would love to hear from others planning to apply to the program!

Thank you again! The information helps a lot. If I come up with anymore questions I'll ask. I'm just so nervous! í ½í¸£

On the website, it says all official credits by examination must be submitted. That doesn't include AP examinations from high school if they're already on your college transcripts, correct?

What is the standard time in class? I have a 4-month-old and my grandparents will be helping care for her assuming I get in and I was trying to see if it was going to be like Monday-Friday 8-5 like my job is now.

I'm so glad there is another momma in the thread. I read up on most posts before posting. I'm considering also applying for Fall 2018 now that I've heard the ABSN student talk about the "flexibility" with the TBSN program. I worry about my science GPA, I hope that my Application Questions will boost me up, EVEN if we were limited to 600 characters.

Would anyone be up to chatting on Facebook Messenger or something that notifies us quicker?

Are y'all uploading resumes or anything?

Class is usually in the morning. You usually do not have longer than 8 hour days for the first 3 semesters, and in your final semester you can have 12 hour clinical days.

How is everyone holding up? Is anybody else waiting to submit their applications until the 14th or 15th?

I just submitted my application! I got my final grade from my nutrition professor today. Now I just have to make sure my finalized transcript is there by Jan. 2.

I officially submitted my app and all materials! I scored an 87.3 on ATI TEAS! Good luck everyone

Hey ya'll. I am such a ball of nerves. I jumped through so many hurdles to get my application in on time and literally the last thing (archived AP score from high school) came in to the school today and my transcripts were verified yesterday. (Which I learned it not a hard deadline, so dont freak!)

Because of all the last minute things I had to accomplish, I keep checking the admission requirements page sure that there must be one more thing that was not done in time! I swear, making it to actually apply if a feat in itself! So many requests!

My goodness, I am so excited about this program. Hoping for the best for all of us. My original degree is in Biology and my GPA is not amazing (~3.3), but my math&science prereq is a bit higher (~3.5) and my TEAS is 92%.

Goodluck to everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am nervous, I did not know about the AP exams; it had been almost 8 years and it didn't register. So I sent them in late and I'm quite sure they didn't make it on time. So I'd be so upset if that's the reason I didn't get accepted into the program.

Any idea when we will start hearing if we were accepted?

I think the third week of January.
