I'm in the process of applying for TJC's transition program for Spring 2019.

I'm currently living about 5-6h away from Tyler, but will be moving if I'm accepted.

Just wanted to see if maybe there is anyone else on here that is also applying for the program OR anyone who has previously applied &/or completed the program!

Thank yall!

Hello, I'm also in the process of applying for the TJC's transition program. I Applied last year and didn't get in. There is always a lot of people applying, and last year I think they only accepted, about 20 or 25 people. Not sure how many they will accept this year....Good Luck!!

Did they have the same requirements last year? I've never had to take the entrance exams that TJC requires. I've always needed TEAS or HESI. I feel like the application process is A LOT of work/requirements compared to other programs, so I was hoping maybe not as many would apply. Good luck to you, too!

Yes, the application process does have a lot of requirements, it was pretty much the same last year. Only thing that is really different they are making you have all your immunization just to apply. Last year there were a lot of people who applied....But I was thinking the same, hopefully not that many will apply this year. Hope we both make it...Good Luck again!

Hello Guys,

I am also applied for the program and I live in Dallas. I pray we all get accepted. Also did you guys register for the ATI exam and when are u taking it. Mine is on the 10th of Aug and I already feel overwhelmed from just finishing the A&P refresher course in 4 weeks. If I get accepted I will be looking for roommates too for the 2nd and last semester.

I registered for the exams in May, but I don't know if I added the right test codes---I got an email from the ADN dept earlier on Thursday saying to register & it gave specific codes, so I'm going to follow up on that tomorrow. I'm scheduled to take it on 8/10, too. I may or may not be moving to Tyler. It just depends on which day we have class & if I'm able to do clinical in Houston. I saw somewhere that they have a few sites closer to me. Not sure if that applies to the hybrid program or just the traditional RN. I'm about 5h away from Tyler right now, so I may be moving that way. I looked at apartments the last time that I was there. I would just hate to move for just one night a week! Good luck to you, too! I hope that we all make it! I'm so ready to be an RN!

Registering in May definitely didn't register me for the exams. It just saved my spot for that exam date. I had to register on ATI this morning for both exams. I can't believe how much all of this is costing just to apply. I really hope that we all get in! Good luck!

Good to hear from you. Yes it is so expensive and I pray we get in. I am also taking the test on the 10th at 1.30pm. I am not sure what time u are testing. Hopefully we can meet each other. I don't plan on moving the 1st semester but the 2nd and 3rd we might have to die to clinicals. Goodluck with the exams I am studying intensely and feel behind already.

They accept 60 for traditional and 30 for LVN.. How did the testing go..?

The test was ok not sure what the scores mean or how I did. We will find out sometime this month if you move to the next stage. I plan on applying to 2 more schools. I don't want to put all my eggs in q basket.

I took my test yesterday at 1430. I bought two practice exams & the study guide/quizzes that ATI offered. I feel like it helped somewhat, but definitely wasn't worth the $150+ that I paid for everything. Sorry, I just now saw this, but I don't think we would've caught each other! I checked in at 2 & you were already testing! How did you do? The critical thinking portion was SO random. I didn't feel like any of it was nursing related. I scored a 70% on that. I scored a level 2 for the fundamentals portion & when I was leaving/getting my score print outs they said they didn't have a minimum score for the critical thinking. I know that you have to score a level 1 or higher for the fundamentals portion. I googled the different levels & it scores from 0-3. Zero being the lowest & 3 the highest. It predicts how likely you are to pass the RN NCLEX. According to the chart that I found for ATI the Level 1 is the"absolute minimum" Level 2 exceeds minimum standards & level 3 "exceeds expectations."

There seemed to be A LOT of people taking the exam yesterday. I know we are supposed to receive emails on the 20th regarding the next step.

I really hope that we get in! It's the only place that I am applying. I couldn't find anywhere else with a similar program. All of the programs closest to me go 4-5 days/week & no online classes. I could really benefit from the online classes with this program & the one night/week class! Fingers crossed!!

Good luck! Keep me updated!
