Suffolk County Community College 2017 Applicants

Published

Starting the thread for those anxious applicants trying to get a read on this year's pool of candidates...

So who is willing to post what they've scored?

Here's mine:

A&P 1: A

A&P 2: B+

Eng 1: A

Eng 2: B+

Micro: ___

Psych: A

Stats: C- (blah!)

TEAS: 78

Not particularly found of the revision to the rubric.

So what are you holding???

Yes you're right it's 3 years and part time. I have two kids so I'm thinking it works out better, only will really end up taking 6 months longer since I'd have to wait until September again anyway. Good luck with everything!

did anyone else attend the NursingFirst information session and put in an application?

my rubric score was 71.5/100 so nervous they only take 65 students.

Does anyone know there whole rubric score? If so, what was it?

Its not the end of the world if you don't get chosen for those seats. You can easily apply directly to them and get in with everyone else. I was hoping it would be better then what they said. That said I did put my name in for it as well. Now I have to take chemistry eventually haha.

I also applied for it. I've applied to Stony Brook 2 times prior. It is extremely competitive so I'm hoping this is my way in. Good luck!

Hello! I also scored a 71.5 out of 100 on the rubric! I don't think I will be one of those 65 students but during the seminar they made it seem like it wasn't the end of the world. There are other ways to apply too!

be confident! not everyone applied to be an applicant which increases your chance

Hello! I had a question that I'm sure one of you could answer. What prereqs do you 100% NEED to take for the nursing program to consider you?

I took, anatomy 1 and 2, microbiology, psychology, sociology and english

The only thing you NEED is to take the TEAS. All the pre reqs just give you more points on the rubric and give you a better shot.

Taking AP 1 and 2 will help with the science portion of the TEAS. Is anyone taking micro in the summer? Or has taken it on a 8 week course?
