Georgia State Perimeter (GPC) Fall 2017

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to see who else applied for GPC's ADN program for Fall 2017. I know its super early in the process, but just wanted to have a place where we could share our anxieties lol.

Also, did anyone else hear at one of the info sessions that they would try and give acceptances to strong candidates sooner rather than later, like in January? I seem to remember this, but not sure if its just wishful thinking haha.

I've also applied for Fall 2017! I went to an information session yesterday, and Renee was saying that to be a competitive applicant, you need a 3.0 in both GPAs (science & program) and a 65 on the TEAS. She also said that the acceptance letters will be in the mail no later than the end of April, but I asked if we may see them earlier and she said that there's a good chance we could! Also, if you look at older forums, it looks like people were getting their letters around the end of March, so I'll start really checking the mail in about a month! EEEEK!!

I'm not sure what my overall/program GPA is, but I think it's about the same as my science GPA.

My stats:

a&p I lecture- A

a&p I lab - A

a&p II lecture- A

a&p II lab - B

micro - currently taking

TEAS - 87.3%

I'm feeling pretty confident, but then again, you never know....

Your GPA & TEAS score are both great. I don't see why nursing committee wouldn't want you as their student. I think you have a VERY strong chance getting accepted.

I can't wait to officially say I am an actual nursing student. I know it will be a difficult journey, but the tears, long wait, and hard work will be worth it. If I don't get accepted this coming semester, I will not give up. Don't let anyone distract or discourage you from your dream, even if it seems impossible.

That's when I'm expecting them to go out! The last weekend in March or so! About that time, anyways. Fingers crossed for everyone!!

Financially, I will go ahead complete a bridge program after ASN.I really cannot afford university tuition right now and I will be working part-time to cover some of my expenses. Some may say, go ahead and get a BSN traditionally, but I rather work as a RN and finish up my BSN at the same time. It is possible to work and study, just need everything in place and set a good plan.

I'm with you on this. I can't afford BSN, Accelerated, or Second degree programs. I also plan on working part time with my employer to get my tuition reimbursement. I just hope I make the cut. Not feeling to confident with all my transfer credits being evaluated really pulls down my Over all GPA. Note to anyone on here who is young. Do well in undergrad. Don't slip up! I had some extenuating circumstances during my first degree but the truth is no one cares. They only see your GPA.
