Cal Baptist ELMSN Summer 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello everyone!

If you're as antsy as I am, this is the thread for you. The submission deadline is this Monday at 8:59PM, so I wanted to open up the thread for this year's applicants. If my research is correct, we should be hearing back in mid-late January about interviews, which feels like an eternity at this point. In the meantime, I'm hoping that this thread can serve to be a great place to ask questions and let go of some of the anxiety that comes with waiting to hear back. I look forward to meeting and hearing from some of my fellow applicants. If you get into any other schools, I would personally love to hear about that too! God Bless everyone and may we all get the good news that we are hoping and praying for. :)

I got an email invitation to the interview! If anyone has tips, I'd really appreciate it! :)

Hi, I just got the email for an interview for the CBU ELMSN 2018. Any tips regarding the interview would be helpful :)

I wasn't getting any notifications, I'm so sorry! I actually just received my rejection letter from APU. :( My interviewer said that she couldn't recommend anything to make me a stronger applicant, BUT I was missing a speech class, so I have a feeling it was because of that, so I'm not too upset about it. I did, however, also receive an email inviting me to interview on January 26th (THANK YOU, LORD). I'm super excited! From what I have been able to gather so far, there are three parts including a question and answer portion, but that's about all anyone has leaked out. I do remember the students at the information session said not to worry too much, but to really know why you want to become a nurse. Good luck to everyone and I hope to see you in May (or on interview day)! :)

Congratulations Alma! When is your interview date?

Congratulations Slim. When is your interview date?! I already posted what I have found so far in terms of tips for the interview, but I will definitely post again if I see anything else!

@nastaishia I am sorry to hear that but you can always apply again for the next semester in APU if anything. I actually just got accepted for APU last week but for Spring 2019 instead of Fall 2018 so I am still undecided since I wanted to start as soon as possible. I also got an interview for CBU on January 26! Maybe I'll see you there! Goodluck to you and everyone else who got interview invitation.

thank you Nataishia and congrats to you too for the interview. My interview date is also January 26th at 2pm. What time is your interview date? We might be interviewed on the same group :)

I am also asking around from the previous cohort. I emailed a couple people from the 2017 and 2016 ELMSN CBU thread from allnurse and still waiting for their reply. I also heard that there were three parts but I am curious what these parts entail. I do know that each interview will be consist of about 10 people so it'll be group interview style.

@Slim199 My interview is 1/26 at 2pm as well! I guess we'll be in the same group! I've never done a group interview before so I don't what to except. Please let me know if you hear back from previous cohorts! Do you know how many people gets interviewed and accepted? Thanks!

wow alma16! that is so cool that we are in the same group. Do you know of anyone else that has different interview date or is their 26th the first time they interview?

so from what i know, they interview about 50 people and accept about 40 people. I havent heard anything yet from them but I will post something if i heard back :)

Thank you Slim199! And no, I don't know anyone else that got interviews and looks like most of us here got the 1/26 date.

I got the 26th at 2pm as well! I'm super excited to meet you both in person. :) And Slim is right, they said that they give out 50 interviews and choose 40. I think that the other 10 get wait-listed if I am not mistaken. And a huge congratulations on your acceptance to APU, Alma!! I know it is annoying that they have you on next year's cohort, but I did hear that APU tends to do that since they only have one cohort per year. Luckily though, that means that your worst case scenario is starting next year. In other words, you've made it! YAY!! :DDDDDDD

Hi! Just received my email for the interview on the 27th! I am very nervous!
