I am currently in a dilemma...not sure which to choose to pursue my MSN-FNP. South, Walden, or Kaplan. Please give me your opinion and feedback! Much appreciated!!!

Are there any FNP programs near you that are not solely online? Many programs offer online formats but have actual campuses and that may be a better route to take.
Yes in NC, but they are all extremely competitive. I have a 3.3 GPA and almost 10 yrs of nursing experience.

Your grades and experience are fine. But why are you going the for-profit route. These two schools are of dubious quality. My question would be: what about their ability to help you obtain preceptors. If they don't help with this exclude them. Have them put that in writing, and under no circumstances sign an arbitration agreement as a condition for enrollment.
Better yet, go to a school that isn't for-profit. There are a lot of them and they don't have the historical baggage the for-profits have.

Agree, those online schools do not have the best of reputations.
Well trust me I wouldn't be exclusively choosing this route if I had many more options. The in state schools are super competitive and they are only 2 that offer online the rest are a combination or face to face. I've applied and didn't get in. I have a family and face to face isn't an option when I would still have to commute 2 hrs away. So although many folks frown upon the online "for profit" schools they open a door for those who have been told no. Or are nontraditional students. And yes you do have to find your own preceptors but I don't forsee an issue since I know many providers personally in the community. Which in some in state schools make you find your own as well.

I personally would not attend a for-profit program, however, I don't believe individuals that do attend have any issues with finding a job. But, have you looked into Indiana State University? It's an in-state (Indiana) brick and mortar university that's online. It does not require mandatory meets, as of now. They have starts for Spring and Fall - so you can at least apply. But, there is no full time. They are only accepting part-time students, so it'll take 2.5-3 years I believe. I applied as one of my out of state options, but turned them down as I did get into my #1 choice in state. I actually prefer to meet on-campus. I believe it's under 30K as well. They're accredited. Deadline is September 1 for January start date. Just look up Indiana State University FNP Program. If you have any questions, shoot me a message.
And to try and answer your question, I'm not sure. I have a co-worker attending Walden - she likes it okay. It is a bit expensive, 40K. I don't know any person at all who attends Kaplan or South. But, I know AAs who's attending South and many South's AA students rotating in the OR I work. Good Luck!
In North Carolina the UNC system has only approved a handful of online programs for the residents to attend that require clinicals. Indiana state is not one of them. I appreciate the recommendation. I have been looking to get in a program since 2012....so I've researched all kind of options.

I am in a student nurse practitioner group on Facebook and it seems like South University students have the hardest time finding preceptors. I have a co worker who attends Walden and she didn't have anything to complain about. As stated before, all three schools don't have the best reputations...
Don't trust anyone when it comes to the preceptor issue. Everyone has a unique situation and will justify their attendance in one of the poor performing schools by entrapping you too. If any school says they will help you in a substantive way to obtain the several preceptorships that you need for an NP program, HAVE THEM PUT IT IN WRITING, they won't. And don't sign an arbitration agreement because it will negate your right to sue them when you find out they lied. If your buddy at Walden said the preceptorship issue doesn't exsist there tell her to prove it with documentation from the school. C'mon people this is a hugh issue and anecdotal information on what a school does or does not do is BS. Grow up. You're dealing with lots of your money and time. Desperation to get into just any school is what the con artists feed off of.
