  1. I am in a student nurse practitioner group on Facebook and it seems like South University students have the hardest time finding preceptors. I have a co worker who attends Walden and she didn't have anything to complain about. As stated before, all three schools don't have the best reputations...
  2. And yes, please share as many "success tips" as you can!
  3. I start in September! Excited and nervous because I am due with my first baby in November. Luckily, my program is part time and I start with just 2 core classes for the first semester. I have a very supportive husband (who is in the military) and equally supportive parents/in laws about 2 hours away who are already offering baby sitting services for when I need to get a lot of school work done or go to clinical. I am also doing adult geriatric primary care! I am cutting down to per diem status in October.
  4. OP, I can relate to you! I am almost 6 months pregnant with my first child. I start NP school in September (part time) and will deliver in November. I found out I was accepted to NP school AND pregnant all during the same week back in March. Although I know it will be difficult, I decided to pursue school. It will set my family up for a better life in the future and allow me to have more career opportunities. Like others said, you have to do what is best for your family.
  5. I will be starting in the primary care AGNP program in September! I am a little nervous, because I am due with my first child in November. I plan on cutting down my work hours after maternity leave to focus on school & family. That's what I like about Drexel, they are part time and have been doing the online classes for a long time so seem very organized. I was looking for any FB groups to join but haven't found any regarding the NP programs
  6. I have been a RN for a year and am starting NP school in the fall. I am glad I gave myself a year. It helped me determine this is what I really want to do. I also plan on gaining more experience by staying per diem during school. You have to do what works for you though.
  7. 100% pass rate on boards 2 hours away for the 1 or 2 times I visit campus per semester Online lectures at a specific time/day each week (so I actually interact with faculty & classmates) Allows clinicals in your community Same price as state university
