Online Education

Hi

I am currently in the RN-BSN program thru Excelsior College and NOT looking forward to the clinicals. With other online schools, do some offer a different type clinical? Is the school timed study? Or self study, where you study and test out when you are ready, not like in having a deadline for classes.

What schools are recommended?

Thanks so much!

:D

I'm going to Graceland University in the Msn/fnp program, The course are not easy, definately alot of writing but the convience of going to school and working full time out weight the cost. I will be done this fall . This program has been around for 10 years ( msn online ) and 20+ years (bsn -online), it is accredidated by the NLN and the ANCC, You can't ask for better.

:)

I too am "attending" UoP online. I'm taking my 3rd class now and love it! It is sooooo much work and very demanding, but the perks are great. School at any time that is convenient for me (usually after my 2, 4 and 6 year old are in bed) and meeting people with different experiences worldwide. I would like to roll it right into my Masters but I am so far from that and not sure which direction I would go in. You?

can you tell me about their 2 week residencies? how hard was that for you to do??? Details? I am curious.

I currently have my ADN and found a program through Indiana University that is a RN-MSN program. There are 10 clinicals on campus in Indianapolis but otherwise the other coorifices are online. I will complete my program in 3 years. I have spent alot of time researching this program and trying to look for other RN-MSN programs that don't require you have your BSN before you start. IU has had this program for over 5-6 years and everyone seems happy with it that I have talked to.

I have taken classes at Excelcior as well. I found that you really need to have the discipline to complete the coorifices. I did not and only completed 2 classes.

I have since taken 2 online coorifices through my community college that had an instructor involved with a syllabus and time frame. I did much better in those classes.
