Hello all!! So glad I found this forum there is a wealth of information here.
Here's my situation. I am currently in my first year of an ADN program. I will sit for my LPN boards this summer. I have an EMS/ER Tech/Phlebotomist background. I am not too happy with my program and would like to be able to work and go to school at the same time. The nursing program I am in leaves little flexibility to work.
I've been reading about EC on here but feel I might miss out on clinical experience.
Does EC have any clinical experience at all?
I live in Colorado anyone know of an online or distance program out here with clinical experience involved?
I could possibly move if need be.
Anyway your input/advice is greatly appreciated.

EC does not have any clinical component. Only the CPNE at the end (2 1/2 day clinical test out).
There is ISU(Indiana State University) that does have a clinical component but you may want to check with your state BON to see if it is accepted there.

well, i justed i study smart. i started with fund of nursing. the book is big and the study guide is daunting but i also purchased the fund of nursing study guide from barnes and noble and printed off the content guide from ec. my only concern is the care plans that will be required in the end because this distance learning plan doesn't really cover that. i'm looking into my options right now...

Shelley,
It may be helpful for you to write a couple nursing Dx's for each health system problem area in the NCs, once you start studying for those. If you are currently working as a LPN, you can do practice care plans (and update them) on your real patients as you go along, too.
