Hey all, looking for insight or recommendations for online MSN ED. Programs that provide actual grades/GPA. WGU and Capella only do “competency based” and I’ll need a GPA to be able to move on to CRNA one day.
Any Help or advice is much appreciated!

My friend did her RN TO BSN through WGU and then did her MSN for ARNP trough South University. One semester per degree while working full time. That is my plan but currently just starting my RN.

Your friend earned an entire master's degree in one semester?

Capella will translate the competency grade into a number/GPA. You just request it when you ask for transcripts to be sent. I was able to apply for MSN with no problem.

I have a friend who went to Capella for her MSN in Education. She can't find a job because all the schools she applied to want their educators to have a doctorate degree. I am currently attend Liberty University for my MSN in Leadership and Administration and all of my professors have their Doctorate Degree, so it makes sense.

Aspen University does an GPA system but the school is not self paced like Capella they have MSN tracks. So I am looking to switch to Capella.
Do you mean she did ARNP at South University in one semester? Do you have a website address for this school? Did she have any trouble getting a job afterwards?

Educational growth is a combination of course work and time for the student to investigate articles, REFLECT, develop ideas to enhance their practice and finally deciding on a thesis topic that adds to nursing knowledge. Truly a capstone project is a just a regurgitation of the literature found on internet library sources. This is the same in many DNP graduate program presentations I have attended. One DNP candidate just took a med error summary tool already published and sent it to several nursing programs to ask if they would use it. It was a tool that was developed by pharmacy to investigate the root cause of med. errors. Sad that nursing has accepted a dumbing down of what our newly educated academics can achieve and receive a degree for it.
