Has anyone ever done an online BLS re-cert??

I need to renew mine by the 21st, and with vacation this weekend and 2 jobs at 72hours a week, I'm having a hard time finding classes that would fit into my schedule....

I've seen online BLS certifications that are BLS not just online CPR classes and they say they have the same questions as AHA certified classes do... They just aren't AHA certified I guess because it's not an in person class with practice on teh mannequin???

I've never noticed job posting specify BLS with AHA cert.

Has anyone done this???

I'm in SoCal...

Before you pay any money to do BLS online, make sure that your employer will accept it. Most employers require a "live" skills check-off.

You should also verify which programs (AHA, ARC, etc.) your facility accepts.

I believe most if not all employers want the BCLS to be by AHA. It is my experience that online certification classes are not AHA approved

There is an AHA online program -- but it is a class and test only. The person still has to schedule a "skills check off" session with a certified instructor to complete the course and get the BLS certification. My hospital uses that online program regularly for renewals.

The online ones I found did say AHA certified, but I gave in and went for the in class one! Luckily it worked with my schedule!!

Was the class conducted at an AHA community training center, or by an AHA instructor affiliated with a center? This might seem a minor technicality, but the AHA doesn't certify courses.

You can use the following link to find an AHA approved course or training center:
