has any one taking the nclex with a past criminal record in the state of Louisiana.

Hi currently graduated from a pn program a month ago and I'm waiting for my authorization to test. The only problem is about 5 years ago right out of high school I got a thief charge when I was 18. It was a misdemeanor and a few years later I got it expunged. Since then I haven't had any run ins with the law minus a traffic violation or so. My question is has anyone sat for there boards with a thief misdemeanor how long did it take for them to allow you to sit and did your license come with any restrictions... any help would be much appreciated thanks.

There is an entire forum for license issues with a criminal history. Since everyone's case is handled individually, you really can't expect to go by what happened to anothe person. You have to deal with your State Board on your own and hopefully you will be successful.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Moved to the Nursing with Criminal history forum. As mentioned each case is determined as an individual basis as a lot will depend on the information you submit

I'm in the same situation, but in Indiana... currently waiting for my expugement for petty theft in California from 7 years ago. Best of luck.
