900 On Gre 3.5 Gpa Do I Have A Chance In The Direct Entry Program

Published

I am trying to get into nursing school. However I did very bad on the gre's. I got a 350V 550Q. My undergraduate gpa is 3.5 and it is 3.7 on the prereqs. One school called me for an interview and they didn't get my gre scores yet. When I told them what I got they were kind of discouraged and said that it is very competitive to get in their school especially when they get on average 300 applicants per semester. Do anyone think I will get in?

Depends entirely on the program and the standard of applicants. Good luck!

I've never tried getting into nursing school before but you can always take the GRE again to try to raise your score. I've seen some schools require it outright or require it only for students with below 3.0 GPAs in their undergraduate work, and the one thing all the programs had in common was that they required a 1000+ score.

If you can get a cumulative GPA of 3.5, you shouldn't have any trouble breaking 1000 on the GRE if you study hard, especially for the verbal portion.

I would re-take the GRE for sure. Your other numbers look pretty good, but if there is one thing that can keep you from getting in for that interview, it'll be the GRE. Good luck!
