Olive Harvey College....

Did any receive an acceptance letter from Olive Harvey College for the Fall 2009 program? Thanks and congratulations in advance!

If anyone was interested in knowing......Olive Harvey just submitted acceptance letters and my sister secured a seat in the Nursing Program. Now she has to make a decision betweent KK, OH, and St. Xavier.

I'm only half way with completing pre-reqs. Well.....congrats to her and her friends.

I just recieved a letter that I was accepted but the wierd part is that I did not apply there. But I was accepted to Truman also so I will be going there. Anyone else get a letter that did not apply directly to the school?

I also got accepted to Olive Harvey without even applying there! weird huh?

I got accepted to Olive Harvey and Daley's nursing program but I'm trying to figure out which one would be best. I applied late to both so I never got a chance to apply to Truman I wish I had though. Any help out there?

I would say to definetly not go to Olive Harvey. Go to Daley, they are accredited, and regarded as a much more respected school then Olive Harvey. I heard horror stories about them. I applied at Truman, Daley and Malcolm X. I got accepted to Daley and Truman and never heard anything from malcolm X. I am going to go to Truman, but if I didnt get in I would have gone to Daley for sure. It is a very nice school. I heard that the labs at Olive Harvey are never open for student use due to the lack of faculty. I also heard that half the class cant pass the Hesi and end up without the degree or opportunity to take the NCLEX. Above all else, they are NOT accredited!!

Wow! Thanks. I didn't know that they weren't accredited but I know that Malcolm X isn't anymore so it's good u didn't hear from them. I appreciate the info. I didn't apply to Truman it's kind of far from my house.

Yeah I know Malcolm X isnt accredited either and I only applied there just incase I didnt get into Truman or Daley, but I was hoping to not have to go there. I am so grateful to have gotten in and cant wait to start!! Did you send the acceptance letter to Daley? When I got the acceptance letter it stated that I needed to fax them back a form stating that I was going to attend, well i never faxed by the May 15th due date and they kept calling me like crazy leaving me several voicemails a day to get back to them, I never did because I had already accepted my acceptance at Truman. They then left me a voicemail telling me that my seat had been forfeited and would be given to the next student on the conditional acceptance list. I wonder why I never heard back from Malcolm X, that kinda annoys me considering they were the school that required the most for the application. Anyway, Congratulations on getting in to Nursing school!!

Yeah that's kind of rude of them! I went to Daley's orientation already and I knew that was going to be accepted to OH but they hadn't sent out there acceptance letter yet. R u sure they not accredited? But then I got the letter from OH and didn't know which one to attend. But those were the only one I applied too but I wish I wld have applied to Truman because I keep hearing how good it is. I was thking abt going to Pharmacy school first so I wasnt going to apply for nursing but it's too long maybe later so I decided at the last minute to apply to nursing school. I actually went on the last day at Daley and someone told me that they wese still accepting applications because they had an extension and they let me turn my in. It wld have been nice to meet u at Daley. But Good Luck with everything.

Yes Im sure their not accredited. Daley and Truman are the only two city colleges that are. My sister is going to pharmacy school, hopefully. She is in her second year of pre-requisites and plans to apply to about 20 schools because its extremely competitive!! I worked in a pharmacy as a certified pharmacy tech for two years and loved it.

:yeah:HI !! I GOT MY ACCEPTANCE LETTER FROM OH ON MAY 28, 2009. I APPLIED TO DALEY, TRUMAN, AND OLIVE HARVEY. FIRST CAME TRUMAN'S ON APRIL 8. DALEY'S CAME ON APRIL 21 AND OLIVE HARVEY WAS LAST. OH WAS MY PLAN C. IM STILL UNDECIDED BETWEEN TRUMAN AND DALEY. THOSE 2 SCHOOLS ARE THE BEST OUT OF ALL THE CCC. I WENT TO DALEY ORIENTATION AND ON JUNE 8 I WILL BE ATTENDING TRUMAN. THE ONLY DOWN FALL WITH TRUMAN IS THAT IT IS FAR OUT ON THE NORTH SIDE, AND MY COMMUTE WILL BE LONG. OTHER THAN THAT I WOULDNT HAVE A PROBLEM MAKING TRUMAN MY # 1 CHOICE. I WAS KIND OF SHOCKED :eek:TO FIND THAT TRUMAN ISNT AS CLEAN AS DALEY, ESPECIALLY WITH IT BEING ON THE NORTH SIDE. HINT: THE WASHROOMS ARE A MESS. I GUESS I'M A NEAT FREAK & GERMAPHOBIC. THANKS A LOT TO EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN GIVING ME FEEDBACK ON TRUMAN & DALEY. :twocents: I WANT TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION. I DONT WANT TO HAVE ANY REGRETS OR AND'S, IF'S OR BUT'S... LOL :jester: !!!

ya truman is kind of gross. The area and the school are both dirty. I think Daley is nice. The professors there all seemed nice when I went to the office. I would say if Daley is more convienent for you then go there. School has to fit in to the rest of your life also.
