Just curious. I am having trouble trackin down old supervisors for references. I mean, would it be normal to go 10 years back?

I think as long as they still know you and remember you it should be okay. I have one manger from 5 years ago and we still exchange emails to this day.

Keep those references - believe me - they come in handy at a later date.
Even now, for me, I am using as many of my written references and
evaluations for another purpose.

If current references are not readily available, then you have no choice but to use the older references. Just because time has passed does not mean that the references are no longer valid.
It's tough because I dont want them talking to my current boss-she doesnt know I am looking.
My old boss is no longer at that workplace--she is at another place and does shift work and is hard to contact. There is no one else that really knows me from that job.
Then there was the job before from 2000-2005-One boss gave me a great reference. The other one after her-she emailed me saying she would give me a reference but she never called the manager back to give the reference!!!!!
So if I went further back it would be my job from 1998-2000. They would think I was off my rocker if I called them!
