When I was first seriously considering retirement, I found a website that I liked. Like allnurses, on Old Folks Forums there are a multitude of forum categories, including general discussion, crafts & hobbies, and humor, the ones I most often frequent.
Nursing is in my blood, so I often refer to it in my submissions. Like when one of my virtual friends who wanted to go on a hiatus, suggested that I take over his long running humorous thread series that takes place in a bar:

I got into Elvis at age 12, around the time of his Comeback in the late 60's. Although his movies were kind of dumb, he embodied the lifestyle in them that I wished to, and eventually did, lead.
In the movies, he played a free spirit womanizer, travelling around, not wanting to be encumbered, and that's the life I led until I was a few months shy of thirty.
As far as his singing, lomdonflo, I love his Sun Record years when he was fresh and new- as John Lennon said, "It was his greatest period".
Recently, I watched a couple of YouTubes in which Elvis was compared to another great singer with an extremely wide vocal range, Freddy Mercury. One video had Elvis and Freddy in a sort of a duet, singing "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". Spectacular!

So Glad you are enjoying vintage vinyl. One of my oldest hobbies is collecting machines and records from the early 1900s. The machines you need to crank. There is something special when you listen to something recorded in 1905. I have attached a photograph of one of our phonograph rooms.
We had a wind-up Victrola on which we played THICK records. I remember playing "Hold Me Tight And Dance Me Loose" by Arthur ---->what was his last name??? He had an afternoon TV variety show and always said, "Howahya-howahya." And we had a record of Jimminy Cricket, singing with whose voice I don't know, "The World Owes Me A Living". Then there was also a novelty song, maybe from Vaudeville, called "Tell Me A Story" sung by a man and a boy.
Other records' songs or performers didn't stay with me as those above; I know we had classical music, too.
VERY, VERY COOL!

Ahhhh, I see! Thank you very much! And as my deceased father-in-law used to reply, "Your welcome just a little bit."
I stumbled on the goodwill on there discount days got to be a little crazy because it all looked like treasure to me, I now stick to my budget when going or will leave with buggies full! Before Covid they would offer discount days to pick for one buck while working LTC often didn’t have clothes for our patients so I would contribute to the donation closet. Sadly the patients family’s would buy them soap clothing ect but some low budget persons outside nursing dept would take there belongings!

I think it was Arthur Godfrey. About 30 years ago, I decided to collect what I like and live among my antiques....my sister calls it 'your museum'. Yes it is my museum and I love it! I met my husband about 20 years ago, and he is a collector too. We are downsizing (just being more particular) but I love living among our stuff. More machines in photograph below!

Should I admit I am back to playing Elvis on my IPad/ Alexa? I loved his 1950 to 60s stuff in the 1970s. His voice was great without any 'autotune' studio adjustments.
