Oklahoma City University Fall 2015

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Hello Everyone! I was wondering if anyone out there will be attending Oklahoma City University in the fall 0f 2015 for the accelerated BSN program? I'm in the middle of admissions and haven't found out if I got in yet but would like to know who is attending? I would be moving from San Diego, CA. It would be nice to get to know some of you. I'd like to know where all of you are from and how your admissions process went?

omg thank you so much! I was reading their financial package but non of it was making sense. I hope you really enjoy the program is where is like to go because it's fast and

hassle free process. I was just hoping it would be less then 60k in tuition lol but i suspect it'll all be worth it at the end if 16 months. I do hope you continue to visit this post once you start the program and share your experiences!

@hopefulkim99 I get the email alerts so I will be available to answer any questions. You still have time to apply for this fall. I believe the deadline is currently in July. If you do come on this thread and let me know ill look for you this fall. Best of luck to you! Everything I have heard about this schools nursing program has been positive that's why I chose it over other schools. It's expensive but look for every scholarship opportunity and sign up. That's what I'm currently doing. Lol hope to see you this fall.

Thank you! I will see you in the upcoming months i still have to complete A&P This summer :( lol wish me luck i do hope i can attend!

I'm sure you will do well and I wish you the best of luck in your summer courses!

I stumbled across this chat. I have applied for fall 2016 and I am almost accepted into the program if my prerequisite classes transfer over. Did any of you have trouble transferring your classes over through Tess? I am just waiting to hear back but it seems a bit difficult to get classes accepted at okcu.

Hi,

Did anyone happen to get accepted below a 3.0 for cumulative GPA?

@thestephanie

I personally did not and I do not know anyone that did. You may need to talk to the University for clarification. Best of luck to you this program is hard but certainly not impossible!

Did anyone get accepted that did NOT have a foreign language on transcripts? That is one class I have not taken and I didn't know if it was required for sure to be accepted

Call Kramer. If you have a degree you may be okto not take it but I know it's required if you don't have one nonetheless I would call for clarification. http://www.okcu.edu/uploads/2015-Self-Guided-Worksheet.pdf

Born and raised in Oklahoma, the area where OKCU is is historical.. so you have a mixture of hipster/old and renovated housing mixed in with the "rougher" population. Personally, I would take the 15-20 minute commute and drive from a better part of town, but that's just me. However, the area is improving with the renovations and new restaurants/bars that are popping up, so there's quite a few things to do now. A lot of young people love the area, but I would definitely scope out a good house or apartment complex rather than walking in blind.

Hi @coco_ABSN! I just stumbled on this thread and wanted to ask you about the ABSN program at OCU since you're in it! I might be attending OCU this fall for the ABSN program and I was just wondering if the scholarships that they give out would still be given during the summer semester of the ABSN program? I saw online that it did not apply to summer courses but I wasn't sure if this was a different case..

Thanks!

You would have to link me to your source. Everything I have reviewed and my classmates disagree. You may have stumbled upon some information that pertains to another matter. I have transfer scholarships within the school and other scholarships outside of the school that I am eligible to use during the summer or fall. Here is a good link to look at as it actually details the amount you would receive. Hope this helps! Transfer - Oklahoma City University
