OCCC Nursing Fall 2017

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Published

Hi everyone!

I know this is a bit far away, but I am going to be applying to OCCC's traditional nursing program next fall. My preference points look like they will be right on the line of getting in. I wouldn't mind applying for the spring, but I want to get in as soon as I can lol. I was thinking about taking a CNA course to get that extra preference point. Does anyone know where I could go to get that done, and how much it costs/time it takes?

Thanks in advance!

I got in for Spring 2016 with 14 points. Had a friend get in for Fall 2016 with 14. She was the second alternate, but got in the first week. Had another friend that had 13 points and also got in on the alternates list, but they took a crazy number of alternates that semester. Fall is usually more competitive than the spring semester.

I took all 3 placement tests and got all 6 preference points, plus I retook the TEAS test and scored high enough to get the full 4 points. Now with my other 3 GPA points and 6 science class points, I turned my application in on Wednesday with a total of 19 preference points and a GPA of 3.86. I feel pretty confident that I'll get accepted this Fall 2017. I'm excited amid can't wait to get started.

Just for reference I applied with 15 points (would've had 17 but missed the math accuplacer by 1 question >

I applied with 17 points and a 3.889 GPA. This is going to be a long brutal wait! Good luck to everyone!

Well this sucks haha I only applied with 14 because I forgot to turn in my new teas the first one I made a 65% and the second I made a 81% giving me 4 more points....

hopefully I get in and don't have to worry about it.

Anyone here applying to OU?

You should be good. I heard the average amount of points was 12-13. Good luck! That really sucks that you forgot your new scores!

I applied with 18 points but a garbage gpa. Super glad points count before gpa. Good luck everyone!

From what I know from speaking with the nursing advisor (and my friends that have gone through the program) they have accepted as low as 12 points. However, this is not a promise because it changes every semester. I have applied and I am ready to find something out like yesterday. Best of luck to all of you!

Chris - Yes sir, I did and was waited listed due to all my prerequisites not being done until May. But once they are finished they will re-evaluate my application.

I applied for fall 2017 as well, with 18 points. We are halfway through the waiting period!

This wait is driving me nuts!!!
