Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) Baccalaureate to Associate Degree Nurse Accelerated Pathway (BADNAP) Spring 2022

Published

Hello! I am starting a thread to connect with my fellow applicants to the Spring 2022 BADNAP cohort at Oklahoma City Community College. I have submitted my application but I am finishing up my last prerequisite so I will be in the second tier of applicants. Looking forward to talking to everyone. Good luck!

Where did you end up getting your tb test? I’ll be there Monday as well!

I found a CVS that does them. I go back on Sunday to have it read and then go back a week after for the second round.

Yay!!  They fixed it!!

"Congratulations!

It is a privilege to inform you that you have been selected for admission to the Baccalaureate to Associate Degree Nursing Accelerated Pathway (BADNAP) program at OCCC."

Pays to speak up if you think they have missed something!!  ?

Sending in the results of my titers I had drawn a couple weeks ago, and am in CPR class on the 17th...  Think I need the Hep B shots, and a flu shot.  Anyone not too far into the alternate list, consider starting all this anyway, if you haven't already.  Won't hurt, and might help a lot if you end up with short notice.  Excited to meet everyone...

Great news! Congrats!!

Hi everyone! Coming back to this thread to get some advice hopefully. For those of you that are in the program, is it best to buy or rent the nursing textbooks? How is the program going for you? Any suggestions/words of encouragement for someone getting ready to enter the program?

Specializes in Nursing.

So I am about to finish my first semester of the traditional RN program at OCCC. You have to buy the ATI program which comes with all of the ATI books (its 300 dollars) in my opinion I would just buy the rest too. Because you will need them for the rest of the time. There is like 3 other books we used. Fundamentals for the first semester and then I think the med surg book for the rest of the time and then this book about pediatrics /kids

Thanks for responding and congrats on finishing your first semester! Are the access codes that come with the books required for the program? I usually rent or buy my textbooks used unless it’s absolutely necessary for me to get them brand new.

It isn't required to have the access codes for the text books. But I would say at least buy the access code for the Yoost and Crawford Nursing fundamentals textbook, because on their online portion in "Evolve" (will make sense later) there are extra practice questions which I found very helpful. Another thing everyone uses is The nursing professor (its a website) shes an old OCCC nursing prof and her mock exams are super helpful in preparing for the lecture exams. This semester has been hard and pretty stressful. Work less if you can, but thats to say I have met friends in the course who have full time jobs and kids. Whatever your situation is, it's possible. Just have to be determined. It is a short term struggle for a permanent result....... I'd be glad to answer any questions anyone has cause I know I was digging for all the info I could before I started. - peace & love.

You are a saint, thank you so much for the insight! Good luck on the remainder of your program!

Hello everyone,

glad I found this forum. I am planning to apply to the band nap this fall \2025 since they have only one time entry per year. But the problem is I will have one last prerequisites due for Summer I.e. Microbiology. I have a solid 4 GPA this semester and a TEAS 86. What are my chances of being accepted being in tier 2 because of not completing the Microbiology. Has anyone been accepted even being on tier 2? I am worried. Please help.
