Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) Baccalaureate to Associate Degree Nurse Accelerated Pathway (BADNAP) Spring 2022

Published

Hello! I am starting a thread to connect with my fellow applicants to the Spring 2022 BADNAP cohort at Oklahoma City Community College. I have submitted my application but I am finishing up my last prerequisite so I will be in the second tier of applicants. Looking forward to talking to everyone. Good luck!

I got in!

The requirements list is kind of making my head hurt right now though. I’m not sure where to start ?

Congratulations!!  Start with making sure you have immunizations and CPR stuff.  That was the advice I got from before, bc the earlier you start, if you need anything done, you have time to get it all in the right order.  So happy for you!

Thank you! Hopefully yours was some weird missing requirement and you end up getting accepted!
I wonder if they prioritize prior applicants?

Hey yall! Found this post by Googling.  I am #18 on the wait list, got the email today. I'm still in AP2 and Microbiology this semester. Any idea if I should keep hoping for January or should I focus on the next application cycle?

Yes.  I responded to the email and asked them to verify things.

Yeah, hoping something just got missed and I can point it out.  Everything shows on my records.

Hopefully it was a mistake and you do get in. I think I saw on a prior BADNAP forum someone that was Tier 1 had the same mixup and they emailed for clarification and ended up being accepted. Best of luck!

You can still keep your hopes up for January but still apply for the Summer cohort. I believe the Spring application is already open and the deadline is in Februrary so you could wait until January to see if you’ve been accepted and then apply. At least you’ll be Tier 1 in the Spring and would have a good chance of getting in. I’m also finishing the last of my prereqs this semester and plan to reapply in the Spring.

Update:  Pretty sure there IS a mistake...  My response says they have me in tier 2 b/c my American Federal Government isn't completed!!  ?  Any of you who know all these requirements in your sleep like those of us who are on our second or more round of application will recognize this mistake...  That class is NOT a pre-requisite, in fact is to wait and be taken concurrently with the final nursing class in the last semester!  I've attached my note the person sent me saying I'm tier 2 b/c I haven't done this class.  I of course, responded immediately and asked that a supervisor review her work, and attached pictures from the actual requirements for her reference.  If any of the rest of you are questioning your notification level, by all means speak up, because there apparently is a lack of experience in at least the person talking with me....

This is so strange. The response from the advisor contradicts the information in the guidelines. Please keep us posted!

I think there’s a chance! My friend was #13 alternate and ended up getting a spot (this was a few years ago). Good luck!

Congrats! I got in too! I started by getting my first TB skin test placed today as well as my flu shot. I’ll be at CPR training on Monday. And I scheduled an appointment with my primary care to get antibody titer drawn in case I can’t find my immunization records ?Lots to do in just a few weeks!
