OK weather?

Since there hasn't been much activity here lately I thought I'd throw this out...

Has anybody heard a long-term forcast for the summer? Is it supposed to be an extremely hot one? It seems that way. As much as I liked the rain a couple of weeks ago, I'm ready for it to be hot and dry so I can stop mowing my yard!

Do not need to look at a weather forcast. You can expect HOT with an occasional spell of Hot to break up the monotony.

You had better hope that we get some more rain before the real summer sets in unless you like water rationing. No watering flowers, or lawns, No car washes etc. We are still way behind average for the year.

Before the recent rains all of the lakes were several feet below normal and the swimming areas were closed. I know that Skiatook lake was 7 feet below normal just prior to our couple of week reprieve.

My guess is it will be HOT on HOT with a little 90% humidity thrown in for good measure.

Yes we need rain. Doubt we will get much more :(

I'm already sick of the heat and summer hasn't even started yet.....lol

Yes, this heat is getting to me. I'm okay as long as I'm in shorts, but even putting on my scrubs to head to school is tough. Jeans are horrible! I'm one of those people who is hot outside but always freezes indoors in the summer, so usually I try to layer. Also, I recently got my hair cut and it won't pull up in a ponytail anymore - ugh!

If you could be anywhere else in the world this summer, where would you be????

OK weather? No, this is NOT OK. It's just too hot for this time of year. And we haven't had enough rain. I'm not a fan of hot weather, and this year it seems we went from cold with a VERY brief stay at nice and bearable to miserably hot!

I hate summer as much as some people hate winter. I don't complain when it's cold.

Now ice is another story ...

Minnesota. Defintely. I could take Chicago as well.

We are going to NE Iowa for a weekend in August and I'm really looking forward to it!

You have to admit that we haven't really had a bad summer this year...yet. I heard on the news last night that it will probably hit 100 next week. Can I go with you to Iowa!? I have to go to Florida at the end of July. I've had to go there every 3-6 months for the past 4 years for dr follow-ups from TMJ surgery, so now it's nothing exciting. In fact, I'm going down on a Sunday and back the following eveing. Late July it is soooo HOT down there!

If you don't mind riding with a bunch of crazy Czechs (we are going to a Czechoslavakian family reunion) I'd say your more than welcome. :)

I felt sooo badly for my SIL in Florida. She was due with her second baby at the end of July. I feel badly for clients who are pg in summer around here. My SIL had a baby girl on July 28th, Kayla Rose. So, I'm an aunt for the second time. I know that she was glad when that baby came. Pg in FL in summer when you have a not quite 2y.o. son. She had her son in CO in October and that wasn't quite as bad.

Hey, did you all see the temps for next week? According to Intellicast, for next Tuesday through Sunday the temps are going to be 100+. I'm going to be so glad to go to Iowa. Right now the temps are in the 80's and they don't have the humidity we have.

I'm REALLY looking foward to fall this year!!!

Seriously....another day over 100???? Last week I made a quick trip to Tampa, FL. It's a trip I've made a few times a year for the past 5 years, but this was the first time that it was hotter in Oklahoma when I came back than Florida was!

Don'tcha luv it??????? Okie nurses on nursing forum talking about the weather??? Just bought a home in SW Oklahoma, (was raised here) on Lake Front property; with a beautiful view of sherwood forrest, No water in the lake bed, the trees and vegetation have literallly sucked us dry... It's so dry down here we're getting nosebleeds...Let us not forget the 25-30MPH gales to keep us comfy on those long hot summer days..

Well, I guess it is fairly safe to say that there isn't a large need for mowing the lawn now. The brown grass doesn't seem to grow very quick.

No, my yard looks the same as it did 3 weeks ago when I finally paid a kid to mow it. Well, except for the sprouting trees that are popping up all over from a tree a had cut down a few months ago! That's really annoying and when I went to the hardware store yesterday they said I needed to drill holes in the stump and put this stuff in the holes, but it's toooo hoooootttttt to do that!

But looking on the bright side again, yes it is nice to not have to mow the yard!
