Always love this scenario -
Huge 6'4", 300 lb man: "Nurse. Hey nurse. I need some help getting Mama out of the truck.
Nurse: (with wheelchair and nursing assist) Okay. Where is she?
You roll out to the truck and Mama is 97 lbs and complaining of a cough for 3 weeks.
Man: She can't get in that wheelchair. You need a stretcher.
Nurse: (assists Mama to wheelchair) And how exactly did you get Mama to the car.
How about the old lady who comes in by ambulance---with no distress---can't find anything wrong with her---and then she gets mad when you ask her why she called the ambulance and replies-----I am just so sick---can't you see what's wrong with me???
Doc says lolinad napip
I say what?
he says--little old lady in no apparent distress-----needs ativan per infusion pump perpetually
I think he's got it.
It's going to be one of those days when ...
It's Sunday and you are in triage. All ER beds are full and you are triaging to the lobby. You hear, "Trauma alert" announced over the PA as you began to triage your next patient. It is a 23 year old female with chief complaint of body aches times 2 months. VSS, no apparent distress. As you direct the patient to the lobby, she turns to you and says, "Is this going to take long? I have an appointment to have my hair done in 20 minutes!" UUGGHHH!!!
