Getting lost on the internet, (just one more click!!) is a great time killer. I suppose I might be learning something worthwhile... or just interacting with fellow COBs...... I mean a social life is important during quarantine, right?
I should be preparing my next week's lectures, reviewing the chapters, grading last week's papers...... the dogs need walking.... tomorrow's uniforms are still in the dryer.....
so, tell me, what are you supposed to be doing? (snarky answers welcome)

House frau chores which I despise but since to date I've not won the lottery I am forced to do or be run over by housecat sized dust "bunnies" that roll around like tumbleweeds.

I should be doing my weekly homework assignment that's due tonight. Or I should be cleaning the house, but since everyone is asleep I figured I'd check in here before I start the vacuum.

Heh.
I haven't read the other post yet, not wanting to spoil the groundwater of my thoughts and subsequent reply.
Remember those old bumper stickers that read something like, "I'd rather be fishing" or playing golf, etc? I took them to mean "I'd rather be doing something other than what I'm doing right now, at his instant, something other than what I am doing, which is driving to work, TCB, etc."
I would think, "That's really not very Zen of you".
I have endeavored, for several years now, to make what I have to do or need to do be the same thing as what I would rather do. Well, sure, I'd rather be sitting in my art room or pursuing some other pleasures instead of TCB, but if I told myself, "I would rather be driving to my job right now more than anything else in the world" I would be doing what I would rather be doing.
I am always endeavoring to bloom where I'm planted.
"Endeavoring" does not mean that I am necessarily successful at reaching my goal, but it sure does give me a better perspective than daydreaming that I would rather, (or supposed to) be doing something else.
Short answer: I am supposed to be doing what I am doing right now.
Interesting topic, JBudd!
I am going to read the other responses now. (Because that's what I'm supposed to be doing.)

I’m supposed to be hopping on my newly purchased private jet (her name is Charlotte) that I obtained after winning the big lottery jackpot, heading to my own private island that I’ve named Lunch (I’m going to Lunch, get it) so that I can get away from it all....but instead I’m here, scrolling to avoid washing the scrubs I will need for work tomorrow ?

Ugh well I need to clean up around the house, the dog needs a walk, I need to do laundry for work tomorrow, and I’d been planning to read up on a couple critical care topics I wrote down this past week that I’d like to know more about. But hey, coffee in my robe and AN is really my calling at the moment.

I should be studying for my final exam on Thursday since I'll be working the other days. I should go downstairs and continue on my laundry. I have a "guest room", which turned into the "laundry sorting room" which has now become a room of untold missing items, 6 or 7 partially full baskets of once folded clean laundry and boxes and bins of random stuff like dry-erase markers, alcohol wipes and charging cables.... Sadly that's not even getting into my Cra(p)ft room.... Alas, coffee is quite nice. I did shovel snow, got halfway through my laundry and will hopefully take out my trash/recycling/compost before sunset...
